Buggy Buyer's Guide (Key Features)

Buying a buggy for your baby is one of the most complicated, complex decisions you will make. It is really important you consider all the aspects that you will be looking for before you even start looking or your head will be turned by the latest craze which may not be perfect for you.

The buggy you need will have to be comfortable for your child, and safe at the same time. It may be more important for you to have a great suspension, or larger storage options. Perhaps you will be using your buggy for longer walks, or perhaps for jogging?

No matter what you think you need, it is important you consider all the details before deciding which is the best buggy for you.

Comfort

One of the first things you will need to think about is how comfortable your little one will be when you are walking around. Will you be looking for something for your little one to be in for some time or would you only need a buggy for short trips?

Some children like to be walked to sleep, if this is the case then you will need to look for a buggy with good reclining features. Will your baby benefit from having a footrest or a tray? There are lots of additional features that could make the trip more comfortable.

The safety of your child is absolutely paramount so check the safety harness to make sure that you are happy with it and how comfortable and secure your little one will be in the buggy.

Use

These days there are so many different choices that need to be considered. What will you be using your buggy for? If you are looking to go off road on long walks then you would need to look for a sturdy yet flexible suspension.

Would you be jogging with your Buggy? If so then there is a whole market opened up to jogging strollers. These feature secure parts to store your belongings, deep cup holders for drinks to stay in place, and straps to hold down anything in the basket. Not to mention added features to make sure your child is comfortable.

Would you be looking for a single or a double buggy? Perhaps you have a child already or you are having twins. There are plenty of options available these days for double buggies including combinations where your older child can sit or even stand.

Weight and size

If you have ever had a large heavy buggy then you will know how important this is. If you can get away with something less bulky then why not consider looking at a lightweight buggy. This doesn't mean they are skimping on quality, it just means that more emphasis has been put on stripping back the buggy to the bare necessities rather than the additional luxuries.

Are you happier with something a little heavier that would be able to cater for your need more by way of additional storage? Or perhaps extra features? These are all things to bare in mind while choosing the buggy that will be right for you.

Compact

I hadn't come across one hand closing buggies before looking at these strollers and I could not be more impressed. If you have ever struggled to put a buggy up or down while standing in the rain and trying to stop your toddler from running away then you will know how important it is to be able to find a buggy that is simple to fold up.

Luckily these days it is recognised by manufacturers that this is an important feature for most parents so many of the buggies now feature one handed close systems. If this is important then look out for the detail in the reviews.

Suspension

Although it is a lot of fun to struggle on paved roads with small hard wheels and a rigid suspension, these are not things that you will need to worry about anymore. As if the stroller manufacturers have been educated by the top motor manufacturers, some suspension set ups are now so smart that you won't struggle on any terrain.

If you live in an area with more difficult roads then look out for these details. Likewise if you would be planning to go off road with your buggy then don't fret, we will have a stroller to suit you.
