This book looks at the first year (and a little bit of pre birth) but unlike most books it is not chronological and it is written first hand. I loved it.
Pretty much everything that the author has written from the obsession with the hospital bag to the buying of plastic toys having vowed never to allow any reminded me of my first experiences with my son. I think it gives a really truthful account of the experiences you have as a first time parent (and a great reminder for those about to embark again).
At £12.99 it's not cheap however I enjoyed it so much I would say it's worth the money. A great gift either for a friend or yourself.
"Excellent read, would highly recommend!"
I started to read this book and couldn't put it down until I had finished from cover to cover. It made me laugh in the first few difficult weeks of adjusting to life with a new baby. The book is divided into chapters of observations by the author making it easy to read but also detailing the chaotic first year with a new baby. This book would make an ideal gift for a new mother and provides reassurance that you aren't alone, especially in the middle of the night! I would highly recommend this book and even now when my son reaches his next milestone I find myself re-reading sections of this book. Great read!
"when will i get some sleep?!"
I liked this book. It's a light hearted interesting first hand account of first time motherhood. If you are expecting a book of advice it is not for you. However if you are looking for a bit of light relief and reassurance that you are not alone or insane to feel and think the way you do then this is a great book.
