Ikea Antilop

Customer Reviews

"The best highchair!"

The title says it all, this highchair is brilliant, especially at the budget price of £13.00 for the chair and the tray!! I have four children and over the years I have used quite a few different highchairs, substantially more expensive than the IKEA Antilop, and I always come back to this one! It's sleek, simple design means its fantastic to keep clean and hygienic, with no nooks, crannies or crevices for nasty little leftovers to build up in, which is probably why so many restaurants and cafes use them. Really easy put together and the legs un-pop so its very very conveniemt to travel with. You can now buy the Pytigg cushion for £6.00 which offers extra support, especially when baby very first goes into the highchair. This cushion has a removable, washable cover which is handy when weaning gets a bit messy! The low price does not reflect the quality which is excellent. I would 100% recommend this highchair and in my opinion it's one of the best chairs on the market.

"Great for baby led weaning"

The Ikea Antilop is the biggest bargain and the best buy I have had to date. Initially I saw a picture and was unsure about this product being too basic but the price sold it to me. It is very easy to clean, sleek, does not overtake the room and comfortable. My daughter is quite short and has struggled in every high chair she has used whilst in restaurants and cafes; however she is always sat upright and secure whilst eating in her Ikea Antilop at home. It is also the perfect height to fit her at the table and eat with the family. The tray removes easily and there is nowhere for food and leftovers to hide making it significantly more hygienic than many high chairs; and trust me by baby led weaning muck tub has tested this well! I have recommended this product to everybody I meet! For just £13 who can resist. It is easy to dismantle for travel but does not fold away; this isn't a problem as I just moved a chair and sat the Antilop in it's place.

"Great value & easy to use"

This highchair is amazingly cheap and incredibly easy to use and clean. We have used it from 4 months with the inflatable cushion and now at 6 months he's almost big enough to fit in it without. The tray is removable and fits in our dishwasher. The legs are easy to take off. The seatbelt straps are great and my friends with toddlers say that they are too tough for babies to learn to use. Only negative is that it doesn't fold flat, but its so easy to take apart and I've always been able to fit it in the car when we've gone away for a weekend.

"Great for weaning"

We got this as a highchair to keep at my parents and it's been a great buy. We are doing baby led weaning and this chair is great as it is so easy to clean as there are not hidden cracks or cushions for food to get lost in. We have needed to use a cushion behind my daughter (6months old) to start with to keep her upright while feeding but as she gets bigger this wont be a problem. The highchair doesn't have shoulder straps, only ones across the lap but in my mind this is better in the early days as it allows for quicker removal of the baby if they begin to choke (which I hope never happens). Don't know if the lack of shoulder straps would be an issue with a toddler. The highchair doesn't fold flat but as the legs come off my parents didn't feel this would be too much of a problem for storing it when it's not in use.

"Why pay more?"

This is a great little high chair and does everything it should for an absolute bargain price. OK, it doesn't have an ergonomically designed footrest or height adjustable seat, but my son is very comfortable sat in it and I don't need to adjust the height (we aren't planning on using it without the tray). Plus it's cheap that we don't mind if our son has a good bash about on it, or taking it outside onto the patio in nice weather. If it gets a bit scratched it's not a big deal. It doesn't have loads of little nooks and crannies so it's super easy to clean and very sturdy. The extra blow up pillow is worth getting if your baby is on the small side - it's great because you can let some of the air out to make it smaller as baby grows.

"great value for money. love it!"

We bought this following recommendations from a few friends. Its great. Was cheap compared to other high chairs but is sturdy. The tray is large which is great both for feeding and play after. You can buy an inflatable insert for extra comfort and stability for younger babies. As its all plastic its so easy to clean. I cant recommend this high chair enough its fantastic value for money.

"Excellent "

We bought this high chair after the first one we bought wasn't great! This high chair is brilliant! Easy to clean, looks modern, comfortable for the little ones to sit in and also they are able to pick up finger foots etc off their tray with ease. It's also easy to get the baby in and out of. The tray is removable too so can be easily cleaned! Don't waste your money buying more expensive high chairs! This one is perfect!!! 5 stars from me!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"We switched to this one! "

This is by far my favourite purchase. After several months of cleaning the nooks and crannies of our material highchair I had enough and purchased the antilop. He was about 7 months at the time and so we didn't buy the inflatable insert. He doesn't need it as he's fairly large. The seat is fantastic, the smooth rounded edges im the seat means this is a breeze to clean. It only has a lap belt so you do have to be cautious but that's not a problem. It's incredibly light which is good for carrying although he does swing his legs sort of jumping which does shimmy the chair a bit!! The legs pop off very easily so can be thrown in the car if needed elsewhere. I like that the tray comes off to clean as well as the fact he can sit in it without tray right up to the table. The straps are removable so can be washed in the machine to get out any squashed banana residue! Value for money and I have recommended it to several people

"Easy Peasy to Clean"

I chose this highchair after reading many reviews - the value is unbeatable, the design is simple and thus so easy to clean up (key feature for us), it would fit in anywhere. As it's easy to take a part I take it with me when visiting friends. Daughter finds it comfortable, great big tray which removes easily.

"Best high chair bar none"

Being the naive new mother I was, I decided to go all out and pay hundreds for a Bloom high chair because expensive equals the best right? Wrong. Once I'd given up on the bloom, we spent the grand total of £9 on the Antilop and it's the best £9 I've ever spent. The ease of use and cleaning is phenomenal. There is nowhere for crumbs and scum to hide, just a lovely, white, easy to clean and easy to use chair. The only downside is that it doesn't fold for storage but that's not an issue as it stays out in our dining room, however, the legs do come off to store it. All in all, I give this 10/10 and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to my friends.

"Fantastic!!!"

This highchair is fantastic, easy to clean, sits baby upright, tray can be removed so that the chair can be placed at the table. We also have the cushion to keep our 6 month old nice and snug. I bought this highchair after I deemed my previous one unsuitable for baby led weaning. I wish I had bought this for my daughter now.
