"A great range of books to share with baby and a toddler"
I got a great range of books from DKs baby range so will quickly review each book.
Hide and Seek first words - This explorative book is one in which we will look at time and time again. Each picture has obviously been carefully thought about in order to develop a range of pre-school skills. Children will extend and consolidate language, numeracy and pre reading skills through a range of vibrant and exciting pictures. The pictures have clearly been design to appeal to both boys and girls. I think that I have enjoyed this book as much as my 3 year old and I am sure it will be a favourite for years to come.
My First Animals - The first thing that appealed to me about this book was the accurate way in which the animals have been categorised. The photos were of an excellent quality and we had a lot to discuss on each page. However a picture of the animal's habitat as well as the animals themselves might have developed my little boys understanding of how and why these animals were categorised further.
Tractor – this book was a real hit with my 3 year old who is already an avid tractor fan. The shape of the book had instant appeal and the detailed descriptions of the way in which the tractor works is sure to be a winner with any little boy. Lots of information and great labelled pictures.
Toot Toot! Noisy Peekaboo – My baby loved this book. He bright pictures and babies in the book gained his interest. He enjoyed lifting the different flaps and looked delighted at the different noises that played on each page. My 3 year old also enjoyed the book and liked finding the items under the flaps in each play scene on the page opposite. A really good book to share with both baby and toddlers!
Baby Touch and Feel Christmas – A nice book to share with baby. It has a range of textures for a little one to feel and a range of high quality photographs all linked to a familiar theme. My little boy enjoyed holding the book himself and opening it to explore the pages by himself as well as with Mum.
My First Colours and Words – All pages contain really bright engaging photographs. There are lots of pictures of familiar objects which is great to discuss with your little one. The pages are very sturdy which means it is easy for baby to handle.
"WONDERFUL SELECTION OF BOOKS"
WHAT A WONDERFUL SELECTION OF BOOKS. BOTH MY BOYS ARE TRACTOR MAD SO WHEN THEY SAW THE TRACTOR BOOK THEY WERE EXCITED TO SAY THE LEAST AND IT DIDNT LET THEM DOWN. THERE ARE ADDITIONAL BOOKS IN THIS SERIES AND IM GOING TO PURCHASE THEM. WE HAD A LOVELY TIME SEARCHING FOR THE BEE IN HIDE AND SEEK FIRST WORDS AND THEY LOVED TOOT TOOT NOISEY PEEK A BOO BUT I MUST HAVE BEEN VERY UNFORTUNATE AS THE BATTERIES ONLY LASTED A DAY AND I HAVE PURCHASED MORE BUT IT SEEMS RELUCTANT TO WORK I THINK IT MUST HAVE BEEN FAULTY SUCH A SHAME. THE BABY TOUCH AND FEEL XMAS WAS VERY COLOURFUL BUT I MUST SAY THERE ARE BETTER TOUCH AND FEEL BOOKS OUT THERE. MY FIRST ANIMALS AND MY FIRST COLOURS AND WORDS WHERE ALL VERY GOOD BRIGHT AND INTERESTING AND EASY TO USE. WE WILL HAVE HOURS MORE FUN OUT OF THESE.
"brilliant colourful books"
All of the books I found to be extremely bright, colourful and well made. The hide and seek one has been the favourite so far with my 3 year old reading it every single day for 3 weeks solid! The Tractor book has been very successful too, my boy especially likes the way its shaped like a tractor rather than a normal book shape. The musical book is a hit with my 1 year old who loves pushing the buttons and having a little dance with it!
"Love DK books"
We have always loved DK books, from my first who is now 6 (and still enjoying them) to our second who is 10 months. Our current favourite is Peekabo Bedtime which he gets very excited about when he sees it.
The books have lovely rhyming repeating patterns and very good illustrations. Our favourite even has lift up flaps which he tries to help with.
Would always recommend DK
