"Great Informative read"

As mum of 2 boys aged 5 and 1, and due baby number 3 in June 2017 I was initially sceptical about whether I would learn anything new - how wrong I was! Having read several different books already this one was a refreshing change. I found it easy to pick up and read, each chapter stood well by itself. I liked the checklists at the end of each chapter, you can remind yourself at a quick glance of what you have already read. The top tips in each chapter were really useful and I found myself learning things that I hadn't heard of before. Being written by both a mum and a midwife made it more down to earth, true to life, and in a way that is easy to understand. Would definitely recommend it to anyone expecting, and not just first time mums.

"Very informative"

This book was a good read and very informative. As it was written by a midwife, I took in the information more than I would other books. I liked that it had summary notes sections after each chapter. Very easy to read and understand. I would recommend this book to friends and family.

"Great Resource"

I found this book very easy to read and details some really good advice for the first time parent. I also feel that the book would be valuable for Daddy's to read to gain further insight to what happens in the labour room and in the early postnatal period. The book was easy to read in bite sized chunks and could easily be dipped in and out of when the parents need advice on a specific topic. I am a qualified Midwife and Health Visitor, but a first time mother and feel I have gained some valuable information from the book too! It's great to see a Midwife writing a book, which covers everyday questions for parents to be!

"Very good read"

I didn't know what to expect when I received this book. I started reading it and found it to be very good. Written by a midwife it explains all those things new mums want to know but don't always ask. It goes from conception right through to after baby is born, giving hints and tips on things to buy, do and tells you how you may feel at certain stages, what certain tests entail and lots of other things all written in a way you can understand - no hospital jargon to confuse! I have nearly finished the book now and my twins are still 4 months away from being born, but I know I have it to refer to. I would definitely recommend this book to first time mums, it will relieve some of the anxiety.

"A good read"

Very informative book. Lots of hints and tips which are handy. The book itself should be purchased upon receiving a positive pregnancy test. Although it is very helpful and reassuring when you have had the baby and it's all overwhelming. The author has done a very good job portraying the different aspects of pregnancy, birth and baby. This book will certainly be passed on or recommended to other expectant parents. All in all a very helpful, well written book for new mums and mums already.
