Kiddies Kingdom is a fantastic online one-stop shop for all your baby buys. I found it quite early on in my baby journey so have been a regular visitor over the years. They’re also very competitively priced, which reduces the need to constantly check and shop around for your baby bits and bobs so this is a review I enjoy writing even more as I know just how much of a strain finance can be to new parents.
Kiddies Kingdom invited me to review the Joie Aire Twin Stroller, a side-by-side value double pushchair.
Pulling it out the large box, it took me the best part of five minutes to pop on the wheels and set up, and that was without consulting the instructions!
The Aire is suitable for newborns, which make it a good choice for twins but also siblings. You don’t need any inserts, it’s a no fuss pushchair that does exactly as it says on the tin.
Each of the seats comes with a handy washable liner that you can flip to a pop of blue/pink. The liner is a nice, plump padded cushion making it comfy, as well as secure, for baby bums too.
The roomy chairs with five-point harness can be reclined independently, making it even better for children of different ages. It can go right the way to a lie flat positioning which is suitable for smaller babies that want to stretch out.
Each seat comes with it’s own sun canopy, that extends with visor to provide what I consider to be good above average cover. There’s also a handy window to sneak a peek at the littlies while they are taking in the forward facing world around them. A rain cover is an extra included within the pushchair too.
While it’s a double, the individual elements of each seat mean parents aren’t restricted to a one-size fits all option for two children, so you can play around with the recline, foot rests etc making it suitable to each individual child.
The bumper bar is a nice addition to this pushchair, it gives it a look of being more enclosed and protective, and children quite enjoy clinging on to it while being sat upright. It’s also useful for all of those buggy toys that you can attach to keep them occupied over longer periods of time.
For a double, it’s not overly heavy and is actually a lot lighter than it looks. It’s a bit on the bigger and bulky side, which on the flip side means that it’s really robust and can easily take on rough terrains. The one-hand fold is more of a fold flat collapse, as opposed to squish together or reduce into a tuck. This means it takes up a fair bit of room when it is folded down, however it’s also freestanding which has benefits when it comes to storage options.
The Aire is easy to push, the all wheel suspension with front swivel wheels make it smooth ride, and once you get acquainted with the additional width, it’s easy to operate.
One of my favourite features is the shopping basket. It is really deep and spans the full width of the pushchair so lots and lots of space for many extras and all that shopping!
Joie, as a brand, typically maintains a lower price point. Their products aren’t necessarily the most stylish, however they are incredibly functional and practical products that meet a really amenable budget. The Aire is an example of all of the above and at one of the most wallet friendly budgets you will find for a double pushchair.
