If you don't know Frugi, then where have you been?! It's a children's wear online retailer that have been providing everything you need to kit your little ones out from newborn through to ten years since 2004. All the above makes it sound like your average e-retailer, however where I genuinely feel it excels is in its premium quality, beautiful colours and designs and it's first-rate organic properties. On this occasion, I decided that Grace (aged 5) would be the recipient of some new winter togs and she too was indecisive about what she wanted, but settling on the Harriet Hoody Dress and Aurora Dress. The Harriet Hoody Dress, £34, is in itself quite a unique design as it's not a common clothing item to find for children. Grace touched it and the first thing she said to me was it is 'thick and lovely' and she hit the nail right on the head.
It's one of the thickest fleece jumpers she has ever owned and I know that when the cold weather hits she will be living in this as it's long in length to cover over past her stomach, the soft hood gives that extra comfort, and the front hand pocket is fab for my daughter that really feels the cold especially in her hands. The multi-coloured bunting design makes it chic, and more of a special piece that deserves to be seen as opposed to snuggled up on the sofa. Paired with some jazzy tights it makes a great outfit for a fun day outdoors, maintaining style and practicality. The second item, the brand new Aurora Dress, £30, for me is more of a dressy dress that I can see Grace wearing regularly to parties. It's a jumper and skirt in one; it's crafted with contrasting designs on top and bottom that complement one another to bring together an outfit without needing to pair items together. The top is a Grey Marl top, again with the super softness of the jumper dress, and has a cutesy applique swallow bird design that adds some colour to liven it up; while the gathered cotton skirt features a fun swallow design as an all-over print. Grace loved it immediately; the top part is where the dress holds the weight and warmth, whereas the skirt is light and airy providing freedom for little legs to kick about. The clothes are really practical, nothing is too tight or accentuating children's figures and if anything I'd say the sizes come up a little larger meaning your child is really comfortable, and you can probably get a bit longer wear out of it size wise. There's no doubt that the whole collection is absolutely gorgeous. Money aside, if I could afford to kit my children's full wardrobes out in any one brand I would choose Frugi. The attention to detail is very much centred on bright and bold standout applique detailing that gives the clothing the 'Frugi-look' and it's an enjoyable, age appropriate image for young children. The materials are all eco friendly, they pride themselves on the highest ethical standards with no nasties from the seed all the way to production so the chance of them irritating or reacting to any allergies are incredibly low. Supporting British-born businesses with great ethics also just feels great as a consumer and parent. To take a look at Frugi's beautiful range of winter warmers, visit www.welovefrugi.co.uk
