Poundland recalls Heated Hugs pouches amid overheating danger due to ‘incorrect instructions’

Poundland

POUNDLAND has recalled its Heated Hugs pouches after incorrect heating instructions led to customer safety concerns.

The £5 pouches have been on sale since the end of November but include incorrect instructions for heating them in the microwave, the retailer said.

Poundland customers have been advised to return the Heated Hugs

The product can be returned to the store, even without a receipt.

A spokeswoman said: "We're sorry to say our Heated Hugs that you pop into the microwave have incorrect heating instructions on the packaging.

"There is a risk that the pouch could overheat whilst in the microwave and, as we take the safety of our customers seriously, we have taken the decision to immediately remove the product from our shelves.

"If any of our customers have bought one of these as a gift or for themselves we'd urge them to not use it and return it to one of our stores, even without receipt, for a full refund."

She added: "We're very sorry to any customers for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation."

Customers with further questions can contact Poundland's customer service line on 0333 234 1877.
