Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is by far the best way to feed your baby. It's best for you & your body and your baby's health too. Formula milk doesn't come close to it. The NHS and The World Health Organisation recommend you breastfeed your baby exlusively for the first six months - this means you don't need to give your baby any other food or drink.

It's the natural way to feed your baby and almost any woman can do it. Having said that, some women take to it like a duck to water whereas other mothers struggle somewhat. Perseverance is the key though. Like anything new, practice makes perfect! Hard work to start but it's worth it in the end though!

There's lots of breastfeeding advice above to help you get started: advice to help your baby latch-on, answers to lots of breastfeeding problems like sore nipples, mastitis, coping with baby's growth spurts, expressing milk etc. Breastfeeding is cheap/free, convenient, natural, the best way to feed your baby - it's a no-brainer really.
