"Fantastic Video!"
The video is easy to watch and the the benefits of swimming are clearly stated. Watching the babies on the video develop their skills is very motivating.
After attending four years worth of these lessons with my first child which were great, but very expensive I think this is a fantastic option for a second child. The video is lovely and gives clear and simple instructions. However, I feel some of the exercises, for example submerging a baby, can be quite daunting, particulary at first. It requires much confidence in your abilitys to put your newborn under water and do is positively with out a 'teacher' as such for guidance.I would definately use this for my second child having some experience of the excerises and save those pennys.
I didn't know these videos were avalible but I think they are a great buy and if i had known i would have definatley bought one.

"A great investment "
The Waterbabies DVD is a good starting point for anybody interested in starting swimming with their baby, particularly if there are no swimming pools near you which offer these lessons.
It is easy to follow and gives clear instructions for each step. It starts off with exercises to do with your baby in the bath prior to going to the pool and gives lots of helpful tips on getting your baby water confident. There is a strong emphasis throughout on water safety and never leaving your baby unattended.
The chapters are broken down into bite sized chunks to make it easy to watch without getting boring. You can just watch the chapters relevant to where you are with your baby.
Having looked at the cost of baby swimming lessons this is a much cheaper alternative and although you haven't got the benefit of a hands on teacher you have got the next best thing and you can watch it over and over again to refresh yourself on bits your not too sure about.
Initially I wasn't too convinced that this would be as good as taking your baby to expensive swimming lessons, but having watched it I am converted. A major advantage of this DVD is that you can save it and use it for future children and pass it onto friends to enjoy as well.
The DVD really motivated me to start swimming with my daughter and we have both benefitted from it. I wish I had had this DVD with my older 2 daughters.
A very good investment to turn your baby into a water baby.
