"A Great Addition to the Smartville Alphabet Train"
As a stand alone toy this can be a little limited. Featuring the same sort of animal friend and similar audio prompts as the Train Station (but without the educational effect) this could soon pall with young imaginative children. Having said that it is clearly meant to be enjoyed as an add-on to the Train Station and works well as such. On the educational side your toddler is only going to learn what Fire Stations are for but as an additional imaginative prompt this is fun, though hardly invaluable.
Price:
Considering that this is half the price (£15) of the infinitely more instructive Train Station it does seem quite pricey. Still as I spent most of my youth trying to talk my parents into adding track after track to my Scalextric I can see how young children will enjoy this extension to an already superb game.
