"great value and superb for travelling with the kids" L`Enclave, French Alps
Have just returned from the most amazing holiday. The accommodation was absolutely fantastic, a lovely loft apartment, 3 bedrooms, everything provided for the kids so made packing so much easier. They loved the toys that were there, they took a couple of their own but we may as well not have bothered! Plenty to keep them amused inc DVDs. The most perfect location with lots to do in nearby Chamonix, went up a couple of cable cars up mountains and went to an Ice Cave in a Glacier. 5 mins drive from the apartment was a park with a sandy beach and swimming lake, very shallow so ideal for little ones, buckets and spades provided. We drove with a stop over on the way there and back (Disneyland Paris on the way back which the kids loved!). An easy but long drive (toll roads/motorways) but could fly to Geneva and hire a car. Would definitely recommend Tots to Travel from whom we have had excellent customer service and would definitely suggest this accommodation if you want something a little different from you next summer holiday! "The best holiday ever!" We set off to France in August for our first holiday abroad with the children. The children were so excited- in fact we were all excited. We weren't disappointed, the house we stayed in was beautifully furnished. It really was like being at home but better because of the wonderful warm sunshine and the pool that the children barely got out of the entire time we were there!
The welcome pack was bountiful and kept us going for days, our welcome supper was delicious. The owners had thought of everything that we might need for the first few days and more. We felt truly spoiled and for a mummy that is really saying something. Only cautionary tale is stock up on fresh milk when you see it in France- it isn't as widely available as here in England!
The pool was fabulous- shallow at one end so that my 4 year old was happy to potter about without us having to be in there with her all the time. The cover on the pool meant that I did not worry about any incidents. I actually read a whole book on holiday- can't remember the last time that happened! Must be pre- children , that's for sure! Wonderful to sit in the evening having a glass of wine and enjoying peace and quiet when our little ones had gone to bed.
Lots to see and do around and about but we spent the time in our lovely home and the pool ( which incidentally had no chlorine- so no sore eyes from small people). We felt really chilled and are hoping that we can go for 2 weeks next time, because we were sad to leave this idyllic place. We hoped it would be wonderful and in the words of our son, it was wicked!! Praise indeed! Thank you Tots to Travel.

"Fantastic family holiday" CHATEAU DES ETIOLES
We have just had the most fantastic holiday in France at a very beautiful Chateau. It's not often that I write a review (2 children under 2 gives me a lack of time to do these things!)but I felt it was necessary after such a great hoilday. I feel I can actually say that considering the fact that we went on holiday with 5 children and 6 adults!
From the start of the day to the finish we didn't have to think about all the boring things that we do when we are at home. The dirty clothes were washed and ironed, washing up was done, beds made and the food collected and cooked by the owners.
The food was delicious and it felt like we went to a restraunt every night. It was also lovely not to have to cook for your children on holiday, an event in my household that is something to dread! The owners Henry and Laura were a fantastic team and just a delight as was the beautiful chateau.
I would recommend this place and Tots to Travel to everyone. The company obviously thinks of every need for the adults and the children which is a hard combination to get right.

"Our recent holiday in France" La Cadran de Solaire - Les Chapelles - France - May 2009
We were looking for a getaway during half term week and one rainy Sunday I set about my search for family friendly holidays, I needed to look no further as I stumbled upon Tots to Travel. We particularly wanted to stay in France so I selected the Tots to France section of the website. All of the properties looked stunning, however, with size, location and budget in our minds we found Le Cadran de Solaire in Les Chappelles. This particular gite was spacious and traditional in decor with a modern twist and the property also has it's own indoor heated pool plus a very large garden and a paddock with horses, this was a major bonus as we had 3 children in tow.
Upon arrival we were greated by Michelle and Mark the owners of the property and given a tour of the gite which was to be our residence for the next 7 days. As we went from room to room we gasped as it was better than we had expected. The inside was spotless with everything that we needed including lots of clean linen, towels, kitchen necessities, stair gates, toys in both bathrooms, changing mats and even toys for the children to enjoy outdoors not to mention a sizeable climbing frame, slide and swings.
As an extra bonus there was also a play room which was full of toys for all ages and as we had a few days of rain during our stay it became a great retreat in the afternoons to tire out the children before bedtime.
The indoor heated swimming pool was great for the children and adults and again there were clean and spacious changing (not to mention the power shower) plus plenty of inflatables for the children to enjoy in the water.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and have already recommended tots to travel to our family and friends. Member review by Faye - Wife of Rick and mum to Joshua

"Fantastic Break " We travelled with Tots to Italy and it was the easiest family holiday we have been on.
Packing was easy as we knew we did not need to take the travel cot, the travel high chair, lots of toys and books as they would be waiting for us in the house we had rented.
One of the real treats was arranging for our first meal to be waiting for us when we arrived. It was such a treat to arrive and know we did not need to rush off to the supermarket and wonder what we were going to cook. The house was very well stocked with toys and stair gates, children's bath toys everything have been thought of.
The information that the house owner gave us was fantastic, we had a wonderful day out exploring the area and visiting a fabulous farm shop with a very children friendly restaurant and play park.
The whole process from booking to coming home was wonderfully relaxed and was very good value for money.
We have recommended them to a number of our friends who have since been. Worth a look if you are looking to book your holiday and stay some beautiful but child friendly.

"Great holiday with built in peace of mind" We needed a lot from our family holiday. A stairgate etc for our baby on the move, space and activites for my three-year-old, friends for my 11-year-old step daughter, and peace and quite for my mum to read her book. As for my husband and I, if we managed to tick all the boxes and the sun shone we'd be happy.
France seemed a good bet - we could drive (saving on flights) and the heat wouldn't be too much. I was recommended child friendly holiday company www.totstofrance.co.uk by a friend. This child friendly holiday company just seemed the perfect solution. We'd rented cottages all over the place before and while many had been beautiful, the stress of no stairgates and unsecured gardens really didn't make for a peaceful holiday. So, this was the answer.
And it was truly great. Cots, bottles, bibs, baby monitors, fenced off swimming pool - the whole lot is guaranteed at all of their gites. We even got to pre-order nappies and baby food - so no squeezing it all into an over-packed car.
We opted for one of the six gites in the grounds of Le Beau Chateau, a beautiful 15th Century house located on the sunny Charente Dordogne border. I chose the property because I figured the communal playbarn and pool (including a toddler pool and nearby sandpit) would be the perfect meeting ground for Rosie, our 11-year-old. And so it was. Within minutes she was happily chatting to the children of the English owners and soon made other friends as well. And our three-year-old loved the freedom of the grounds and extensive play area.
The region was also a great hit. While there is nothing really to speak of in the village of Gurat itself - except the rather special underground church - there is so much in the grounds of the gite (including archery lessons from former-champ David) it didn't matter. And there is plenty to see and do within a 20-minute drive. There was even a wonderful and shady river beach at the nearby medieval village of Aubeterre - including a coffee shop for mum. And this bit of France boasts plenty of local markets and interesting villages (some with boating options for older children).
All in, the holiday was a huge success. All boxes ticked. Member review by belinda - mother of two little boys plus one step-daughter
