"great for early readers"
The Snowcat is a lovely book that is enjoyed by my 3 children, 7yrs, 5yrs and 2yrs.
My eldest 2 enjoy reading the story - one plays father christmas and the other is the cat. My youngest loves the pictures.
The way the book is set out means it can be read by either 1 person or 2 taking turns. The children get into the story when they can read the story too.
Very lovely story and my youngest son took it to nursery for the other children to enjoy too.

"fantastic christmas tale.."
The snow cat is not at all what I was expecting. Having briefly looked at the cover I assumed it was about the cat on the front cover but how wrong was I!!!!Shall leave that as a surprise though!!
Adam my eldest absolutely adored the book and loved how the text was set out so he could easily follow the words and read the story. My girls loved the pictures with such great detail they told a story in themselves. Hannah loved to point out lots of little bits that tied into the story while chloe enjoyed the whole experience.
Adam also took the book into school where it was read to a class of 30 4/5 year olds. According to the teacher the children absolutely loved the book and the illustrations just enhanced the experience.
An all around hit I would say!!!

"the pefect book for first readers and younger children!!"
when the snowcat arrived at my door i could not help but have a sneak peak at the book and i was surprised to see just how much time and effert that had been put into the making of the book to make it perfect for the whole family it has lovely clear pictures that help the children relate to the story and the words are set out in a clear and bold way so new readers like my eldest child tegan who is four follow and repeat the works with out getting confused, the words used in this story are also easy for the child to repeat and also sound out.tegan loved this book and even know the words are simple for the child to read and follow its a loverly story and draws the child and partent into the story.
My second eldest child morgan who is 3 loved listening to the story and pointing at the pictures and talking about what was in the pictures her best part was the poorly rainders that had a cool it seem to cheer her up as shes got the flu.
last of all my youngest child jordan-james whos 1 sat in my arms listening to the story and looking at the pictures and clapping he seemed to really found this book exciting.
i would recommend this book to anyone with children as its good for all ages and is a good family read and really brings the spirt of christmas.
thank you for letting us review this book it is loverly and will be a sell out

"Lovely book for sharing together and developing early reading"
The Snowcat is no ordinary children's picture book. The way it's written and the beautifully detailed illustrations allow you to really share the book with your child and enable them to join in as much as possible, not just read it to them.
The Snowcat is like a very simple play - it's a dialogue between Father Christmas and his little cat on Christmas Eve. The reindeer are all ill, and they are trying to work out how they can deliver all the presents. Bright, bold illustrations of the cat and Father Christmas make it very easy for even little children to work out which words go with which character.
My four year old daughter loves books and has always wanted to join when we read together. We read The Snowcat together first, talking about the story and the pictures. By the time we had read it a few times, she had already started to memorise the words and we were able to read it like a real play. She had a huge smile on her face as we were reading and we both had great fun reading together. Now we swap parts and put on different voices too! I love the way she uses lots of expression when she is pretending to be each character - great for future reading!
I have started to teach my daughter the basics of reading and this book has been a real help for that. She can start to follow the words of the character she is reading and begin to recognise each word. The sentences are all very simple and the words are short and clear, so it's perfect for little children to read.
I would really recommend this book. It's great for children of my daughter's age who are just starting to get an idea about reading by themselves, but would also be good for slightly younger children as they would easily be able to remember the words and would love joining in. It's slightly more expensive than other picture books but I do think this is worth it as it is quite a unique book. I'm hoping that there might be more of these books soon, with different stories, as my daughter and I would both love to read them!
