"GREAT informative book"

I was really impressed with this book, its really easy to read and easy to find a subject to find information on.
I think its quite pricey at £12.99 and I think its cheaper to buy online.
Its quite bulky but then its got all the information you need in it.
I agree with the other reviewer that it may be better as a spiral bound book as you can't lay the book flat to read a certain page.
But overall, great book, very informative.

"fantastic"

I love this manual, its something I have been meaning to purchase for ages, but have never gotten round to it.
The manual is easy on the eye, well versed and stylised beautifully.
Covers a wide range of ailments, great diagrams on how to attend to the issue, gives a good idea for a basic first aid kit.
My only 'thing' with the book, is that it would be better spiral bound, so you could have the page out flat, but other than that it is perfect.

"Very thorough and easy to read"

This is a brilliant addition to any First Aid box, especially for those of us (myself included) do not have a great knowledge of First Aid. This book is separated into 13 sections, from becoming a First Aider to different ailments and injuries finishing with emergency First Aid.

It is very comprehensive and is written in an easy-to-read format. Some of the subjects covered are respiratory problems; wounds and circulation; bone, joint and muscle injuries; nervous system problems; effects of heat and cold; foreign objects, poisoning, bites and insects; and medical problems such as diabetes, allergies, migraines, meningitis, etc. There is also information on techniques and equipment, managing an incident and assessing a casualty. Each section has easy to follow step-by-step information with photos and for each ailment there is a segment about how to recognise each ailment, your aims as a First Aider and any special cases that you should look out for including details on what to do if children have the same symptoms.

Although there is not a section especially for babies and toddlers there are segments which include them such as unconsciousness; recovery positions; choking; chest compressions, rescue breathing, resuscitation and seizures; croup; nose bleeds; dehydration; and hypothermia. There is also a section on childbirth including emergency childbirth.

The only issue I can find is when trying find a section on infants, the index gives you the page number for the section and not the page it mentions infants, for example when looking up infants hypothermia I was given the page number for the hypothermia section but the part relating to infants was not on that page, it was a couple of pages further on.

Great quality and although £12.99 is more than I would be willing to pay it is available online from £7.00. I would definitely recommend this.
