"fantastic"

As some one else has mentioned when we first got this book i was a little concerned it would give the children nightmares, so i thought id try reading them the story after lunch.
The illustrations were great and the kids loved pointing at them, they also found the story very ammusing espeshally the twist at the end! They loved it that much that when bed time came we had to read it again and it is now a bed time favourite.
I think the book is definately value for money and im sure we will be seeing it grow ever so popular in the shops!

"Great Read"

The Fearsome Beastie is a great read with fantastic illustrations and is written in rhyme which makes it really easy to read. I found the style was very similar to Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes as you find yourself reading faster when you reach a scary bit which adds to the excitement. The twist at the end is very cleverly done, my sons thought it was hilarious! The illustrations in the book are excellent, we spent ages looking at all the different pictures and Gabriele Antonini (the illustrator) has really captured the fear on the children's faces. This is a brilliant book and we have read it at least once a day, usually more, since we received it.

"mega impressed"

I have to say when i 1st got this book, i was Slightly aprehensive as it did seem quite a scarey book and as my son always has a bed time story i was worried it may have played on his mind and he would have nightmares but i couldnt have been more wrong.
Ritchie is 4 yrs old and very inquisitive and takes a great interest in his enviroment and asks lots of questions.
We decided to read the book together after his evening bath, He was very excited as at 4yrs old his imagination is running wild. He loved the very detailed and colourful illustrations and i loved the quality of the pages, cover and the general wording of the story, which rolls off your tongue almost like song lyrics. My son enjoyed the story and stayed focused throughout, He ask lots of quetions afterwards and really seemed to take in the concept of this book, which is Stranger Danger. He loved the little twist at the end { wont spoil for anyone thinking of buying} and thought what the Granny did was very cool.
All in all a great book, which we have read at least a dozen times. He even took it to nursery to share with his class and the teacher was impressed at the message this book sends out.
Definately worth the money spent and could easily be passed on for other kids to enjoy because the quality really is great.
I will definately look for other titles by this author. loved it. xxxx

"Easy to read rhyming book"

This is an enjoyable easy to read book, the rhymes literally roll off the tongue. My 4 and a half year old loved this book so much that he made me read it three times in a row!
I think the twist in the story is good for children as it just shows how people aren't always as they seem. This is a very good quality book, the illustrations are brilliant and is definitely good value for money. My favourite childrens Author at the minute is Julia Donaldson who wrote "The Gruffalo," and "The Fearsome Beastie" is a very similar kind of book!
I found that "The Fearsome Beastie" book was just the right length to keep my child concentrating and also myself reading it! Would definitely recommend to other Mum's out there! Great.

"lovely rhyming book "

this book arrived at the weekend and my little girl (6) couldnt wait to read it.

The book is a lovely lighthearted poem with glorious vibrant illustrations. Bethany found the book easy to read and highly enjoyable, so much so that it had to be read 3 times in a row in case she had missed anything.

i believe this book offers value for money and will keep the little ones happy as it is a 'proper' bed time story with a lovely happy ending and would be happy to buy it full price in the bookstore.

"A new favourite"

The envelope arrived and was immediately ripped open. Poor Izzy had to wait until I had made a cup of coffee before I read it. And what a read...the rhyming is clever and just rolls of the tongue. The illustrations are beautifully drawn, with just an edge of malice. I was astounded to find out that the author wasn't scottish and had no affiliation to Scotland at all as it read so well in a Scottish accent, even my English Hubby put on his best Scots accent to read it (which was the 4th time in a matter of hours). The story was a wonderful surprise, with a twist which then twists itself! Difficult to articulate without giving the plot away.

Wonderfully poetic, beautifully illustrated and a fantastic read.

"Lovely Illustations"

My son liked this book, it's a rhyming book which he's been learning at school so he was very interested.
The Pictures are lovely, so nice in fact that my 19 month old wouldn't let us turn the pages until she had pointed out everything.
The story is a bit reminiscent of Little Red Riding Hood but seen as many children nowadays haven't read that, this is a good modern day substitution.
£5.99 RRP is about average for a book of this size and quality.
So all in all a good book for children aged 4+ with engaging pictures and story.
Would make a good present for all the childrens parties your youngster gets invited to once they start primary school.
