"Great looking and lightweight."

The Zapp Xtra is really lightweight which is great when you have to get it in and out of the car a lot and to push it is very easy.

It looks really good too and can be used both parent facing and outward facing which is perfect as your child gets older. Can be used from birth with the Maxi Cosi car seat or the seat unit included.

Great for popping to the shops with as very easy to maneuvre (as long as you have both hands free).

Pros: Lightweight and easy to push, looks really good and is suitable from birth. Easy to put together.

Cons: Two part system means you have to take apart to get in and out of car. Handle hight is quite low which is not great for taller parents. Not much storage space in the basket. Not very easy to steer with one hand.

"Quinny zapp xtra"

I really love my quinny zapp xtra i really can say im proud to push it around (at the risk of sounding like a pushchair snob) But to be fair the most important thing is that my daughter loves it too she is so comfy in there and has plenty of room its great that because even though she's 14 months old now she still has the tendancy to fall asleep whilst we are out and about, so with the quinny zapp xtras ability to lie totally flat she really can sleep soundly.

I have noticed people have spoken of problems with the pushchair bashing your knees whilst walking when the pushchair is in the lie flat position, for me i havent had any problems of this at all. I am quite tall but im not sure how height would effect this anyway?

For me getting used to the 3 wheels was a little strange at first as i have always had 4 wheeled pushchairs before and with my inabilty to steer a pushchair straight i have on occasion found that i have caught the front wheel on a slight drop and felt like the pushchair was dragged suddenly to the side of the drop. I dont think this is the pushchairs fault just the fact i am not used to 3 wheelers. One thing that i have noticed with the pushchair is that on certain ground surfaces (namely cobbles) its very very noisy i have never had such a noisy pushchair it really is noticable.

Every thing about the pushchair is pretty simple and i find it really easy to use including getting it in and out of the car. I have quite a small boot and the pushchair fits in but theres not alot of room for anything else. This is because the frame folds up really small (impressively small) but the seat stats as it is and has to be kept seperately and it really is a big seat which is fantastic from my daughters point of view as its very comfy but not quite so good for storing. When folding the frame up and down you need to use 2 hands as buttons 1 and 2 really need to be pressed at the same time so not great if your holding a baby to get on or off a bus etc but its fairly simple although i do some times find the number 3 (which is press and slide) quite stiff to do. I'm not sure if this is just my pushchair or if it will loosen with time. There are 2 discs you attatch to the frame in order for you too slot on the seat i find they do come off too easily and i have actually managed to lose one of them already as its just slipped off at some point. I think it would be better if they werent so easy to take off or they were permanently fixed.

The hood on this pushchair is huge i have never seen such a huge hood and its fantastic for all weathers. I have actually removed the basket as i didn't see the point in it as its so small and it makes it difficult to fold the frame. The pushchair is very light and really lovely to push over all its a fantastic pushchair i would reccomend to anyone.

"Quinny Xtra"

So onto the Quinny, I chose the rocking black. It was so simple to put together and comes with connectors for if you are using a Maxi Cosi carseat on the frame. I am past that stage with Erin so went straight to using the Quinny seat unit.
Here are my favourite features:
1. The forward or rear facing seat option. I love having Erin facing me when we are out and about. She is able to chat away to me which I think has helped her communication skill loads. Erin smiles and gurgles all the way on the school run, which we do twice a day and we nearly always walk.
2. The accessories especially the footmuff are brilliant. I bought an orange footmuff but they come in the most amazing range of colours from lilac to gold and pretty much everything inbetween! Now the reason I am raving about a footmuff is that it is actually the equivalent to a sleeping bag. It goes right up and over Erins head. It is so snug – it has been perfect for this weather we have had this winter.
3. The final feature I am going to highlight is how lightweight it is. It folds down tiny for the car boot- it would have even fitted in my Mini - but I got rid of it in favour of a people carrier after having Erin (third baby!). It is also lightweight to push and just glides about. However it was also sturdy enough to cope with the snow.
4. The seat reclines which means that Erin can take comfy naps when we are out. Erin doesn’t sleep in buggy’s although she is a great sleeper. She likes to be stretched out in her cot. However if she is tired I lay her flat and she drops off. This recline feature is new to quinny. The Buzz didn’t recline and that is what most people disliked. This shows that Quinny listens and takes on board their customers views and addresses issues where they can.
Negatives
1. Now I am being honest. I don’t think that there is a perfect buggy out there. What suits one family may not suit another. My gripe is with the shopping basket. It isn’t very big which has been a pain doing Christmas shopping when I am out buying more than usual. You also shouldn’t hang shopping from the handles as it could cause tipping. Now I highlight the word could- as I have hung shopping here not too much but I do and it hasn’t felt unsafe.
So that is the Quinny Xtra in a nutshell. I love it and will continue to use it long after the review and testing process has ended.

"Handy as a spare"

I have two Quinny Zapps, one is kept as a spare in the car and one at the Grandparents. Perfect for those quick trips to the shops, or to take my son for a walk round the block. Not so good for long walks or over anything other than smooth surfaces! The wheels are quite hard so i find them to be noisy and its struggles over grass/bumpy paths but if you only walking to the shop its great!

The buggy doesnt lay flat so only good for 6 months plus. But saying that my son is 10 months and he has fallen asleep in it for an hour with ease.

This is such a small stroller, its perfect for anyone with limited space in car or house, easy to fold up and down!

"Perfect little buggy"

This would have to be the number one buggy for a small car, or for a 2nd buggy to compliment a larger travel system. It is just great for fitting in any car, under the seat on a train, in the overhead locker of a big airplane etc. Great for holidays when you are on the move all the time.

I got a small shopping bag for underneath from ebay and I sewed some shoelaces onto the top and bottom of the raincover to make it stay on more reliably (Quinney would do well to address both of these in future models).

It is so light to push and I've had no problems folding or unfolding. It is light to put into the car (where I keep it all the time). My son sleeps well in it even though it doesn't lie back. I think it's brilliant. I got it second hand from ebay, but would defo buy another one new if this one broke down. I have a Maclaren 4 seasons as my main buggy which I use if I have to take more stuff with me.

"not great with no car!!"

I always wanted a zapp, had heard so much about them!!they are lightweight, easy to use and fold fairly small...all very possitive i thought so off i went to get my zapp!!
i dont drive and very often use public transport to get about, while on the bus the brakes lock the back wheels but the front 1 always twisted out so not to practical and never really felt safe!!there is no shopping basket so had to hang shopping of the handles, and due to it being so lightweight would tip with my little 1 in it!!the raincover fits poorly and although my little 1 never got wet it was hard to attach it were it looked right and didnt look to close to my little 1!!and wen you put the changing bag on the handles over the raincover the rain cover fell off!!
my wheel has fell of and the cost to send to be fixed was as much as a small stroller...i now own a small stroller and it is much more practical for use on public transport and getting my shopping home!!i would say the zapp is useful for the school run,a quick trip to the l9ocal shop for a loaf of bread but no good for anything else!!

"Great for popping to the shops"

I bought a Zapp when my daughter was a year old. I had a Zia before this but the handle height was quite low and the seat doesn't sit very upright so i switched to a Zapp instead. Its perfect for popping to the shops with or a short visit somewhere, fits in my tiny boot and has a good upright position for my now 2 year old daughter to watch the world go by.
That said, it is hard to open and close (but you just learn to be a bit rough with it), the raincover is a poor fit and it doesn't recline but I bought it for something i could leave it the car for when you need a buggy in a flash and this does the job nicely.

"I love this pram"

I bought my Quinny Zapp off the Internet about three years ago now and I really love this pram, that isn't to say that I don't give it a kick when I have to fold it as I sometimes find that hard, expecially before your children can stand next to you. It isn't a one handed fold pram.

My one is black which looks good, but I have seem some really nice brighter colours around town . The pram is really good for tight spaces as it can really turn on a very small area, much better than the other prams that I have had.

One down side is that it doesn't have a basket, so as with all prams you hang things on the handles, which means that you have to keep a hand on the handles to stop it from tipping over (I learnt this the hand way during a Christmas shopping trip!)

I am looking forward to my third child getting old enough to go into it.

If you are going to get this pram, shop around as I got it about £50 cheaper than the Mothercare price.

"I loved it"

I loved my Zapp, would'nt leave home without it. The cool design of the Quinny and the space saver for my car. I also think the new 2009 fab colours are great and I am planning on buying a new one to use on my old Zapp frame. The price is also fab and great for travel and holidays.

"Zapp Addict"

I bought my Zapp when my first son (now 2) was 6 months as I was sick of not being able to get into shops with my unwieldy Mamas & Papas Sport pushchair. It's fantastic! Turns on a sixpence, folds down into nothing (it fits in the rear footwell in my car), weighs next to nothing and is brilliant to push. The only downside is the poor quality raincover which doesn't fit very well if you're using the foot muff aswell. There's no basket but, to be honest, I carried loads of rubbish I didn't need so it was good to be forced to assess what I actually needed and, although the manufacturer recommends against hanging bags from the handles I found it to be OK as long as you don't go mad which is true of any oushchair. I still love it amd am waiting for my second son to be old enough to use it.
