"Nelsons Wipes"

I recieved these to test and passed them onto my mother in law.

She said they are fantastic and very soothing, she wishes she heard of them years ago.

She said they smell nice and the bottom of the pack the wipes were much more moist and maybe too moist.

She would recommend them to anyone with piles to try.

"Great addition to any labour bag"

When i received these i passed them on to my sister as she was due to give birth any day.

She told me they were a welcome relief when she went to the toilet after the birth of her daughter. They also helped her with her stitches as she placed them on the stitches to stop the stinging sensation.

My sister also commented that the only down side is as she got towards the end of the pack the wipes were more moist which left her feeling damp.

She would buy them again ( and did ) as it took the worry out of going to the toilet.

"Nice and soothing"

I only rarely suffer from piles after having my fourth baby but I have been using these wipes any have been quite surprised.

To anyone else they just look like a travel pack of baby wipes so you wouldn't feel the need to hide them away like creams.

The pack is easy to use with the easy open/close lid which also ensures they don't dry out.

They are soothing/cooling which is what is needed and do exactly what they say they will.

They are on the pricey side but are worth it if you are suffering.

"they are ok"

I personally haven't had the need to use these wipes, but when my boyfriend came down with a stomach bug and had bad diarrhea, I put them next to the toilet. He's had problems with piles in the past and he was grateful for the wipes. He said they felt really nice but that was it. He still had to go out and buy some cream to apply. We wouldn't buy them ourselves though...they seem an awful expensive alternative to toilet paper.

"Good wipes"

I do not have piles so I passed these onto my father in law to test.

He fedback that the wipes are nice and moist, very soothing, come out easily from the packet (ie one at a time!). He said they did make a difference to his piles and he felt very 'clean' after using them!

He also said he would definitely buy them again!

"A nice smelling product"

These wipes smelt pleasant however they seemed to contain too much liquid leaving a wet feeling. The packaging was good..not what i would call eyecatching.
The wipes were rather thin and small.

"Very soothing"

I have never suffered from piles, however both my husband and I used these wipes and found them very soothing. They are also very strong, other moist wipes that we have used in the past have tended to tear quite easily, so I found these wipes very impressive! They also had a nice fragrance. The packaging was very simple and discreet.
I personally think they are a tad too expensive for our general use, however if I were to experience piles in the future, or if I need stitches again after my next labour I would definately consider purchasing them.

"Soothing but expensive"

I have found that the wipes are soothing and very soft to use. A lot softer than the moist toilet paper that we have had in the house before and they also don't stick together when pulling from the pack as others have done.

While I didn't suffer from piles, I have found the cooling effect very good and also feel much cleaner after use. I also would have loved to have known about these in the 2 weeks after birth when my stitches were healing.

From speaking to friends who have had piles, I would splash out on these although I think they are too pricey to have in the house on a day to day basis.

"Refreshing"

The wipes are refreshing and cooling. Not sure if they would improve the discomfort of piles, (as have never had them and hope never to experience them). Packaging is sensibly discreet. Price seems expensive but may be prepared to purchase if suffering.

"slightly expensive"

during my last pregnancy i would've spent whatever i had 2 for these wipes when i really suffered. but have not had a problem with this for a while now. However i did use them anyway & have to say i did find them cool & soothing.

i would definately have paid these while i was pregnant as i really suffered but still feel that they cost a bit too much for what they are

the packaging is quite discreet i think it doesnt blatently advertise what they are for. so all your visitors wont know you've got piles if you leave them in the bathroom

I am fortunate enough to not have piles but still used the wipes as a final 'clean'. They felt very soft on the skin and were not too big so you didn't feel as if you were wasting stuff.

I have to admit we did not flush them down the toilet, although they are flushable, because we have our own septic tank and you can only put toilet roll into it.

Am sure they would be a great product for the first few days after giving birth as they would soothe and not hurt any stitches that may be there

"Expensive but soothing"

Myself and my husband both tried these wipes. Although neither of us have suffered from piles, i still felt that these wipes were soft and soothing. They were quite small, I felt, compared to normal moist toilet wipes, and perhaps a little pricey but, its a small price to pay for a comfortable happy bottom!

"Great packaging"

I have been using these wipes since giving birth to Juliana. I have not suffered from piles but I use one wipe to give a final clean after wiping with toilet paper. They are very soothing and leave you feeling clean. I like the discreet packaging and the clip opening. It is good that they are flushable unlike baby wipes.

"nice and soothing but pricey"

I've been lucky enough to never suffer with piles so I can't judge how effective these wipes would be for that, BUT having given birth seven weeks ago, I can tell you that they are lovely and soothing for the painful first few days after the birth ! They're cooling, soothing and refreshing and not too moist or perfumed. They're not something I'd buy all the time, because they are ricey, but they are something I'd recommend for all new mums, with or without piles !! It's great that they're flushable too.

"Soothing with natural extracts"

I haven't suffered with piles but I can imagine these would be very soothing for someone who did. I got my wife to try them too and she said that they would have been very soothing for after the birth. I think that they differ from baby wipes as they have special plant extracts and are designed to be soothing for a particularly sore area. The wipes also flushed easily through old Victorian plumbing and we haven't had any blockages! The price does seem a little high but then I don't imagine you would be using them very often (unless you diet has far too much roughage!!) so they will last a while and I think the addition of things to make them soothing makes them better than baby wipes.

"okay for wipes!"

I feel the wipes are a on the small side and you would need to use a couple, wipe is strong and soft with a decent fragrance.

I like the resealable packet which keeps them moist. i cant see any difference with using huggies or any other baby wipes, if you're going to use a haemorrhoid cream anyway.

At £4.15 per pack of 40 wipes, I dont think they are worth it, so would probably not buy them in the future.

"A must have for every new mummy!"

Having given birth 3 times I have the vivid memory of the first few dreaded trips to the bathroom, even without piles the ordeal brings tears to most new mums eyes... with piles the pain is in competition to those first labour pains! Unfortunetly nothing is going to arradicate that, however these wipes did help to sooth the discomfort, and had more relief than the moist toilet tissue I was using prior to recieving these. Although they dont treat piles, in combination with a piles cream these are definetly worth it. And although they are quite pricey as they are thick if used in combination with normal toilet roll and only when opening your bowels I found they lasted a month, which equates to around £1 a week, and for any relief down there I personally I think its worth it!

"great product"

After giving birth recently to my fourth child, yet again I suffered piles from labour.
These wipes are fantastic they provide some relief and are soft to use. They are thick and a good size. They smell nice and sooth your piles when you need them. They are also great to ensure area is clean before using ointment.
I would recomend them to anyone who has ever suffered haemorrhoids as they are a must have.
Pack is a good size and value for money is great.

"Smell great and good quality wipes!"

i loved these wipes they were great smelling, and good thick quality so you didnt need to use too many at a time.

i used them as wipes for my toddler when changing his nappy and found more oftent han not easy to use once handed in getting them out of the packet.

Occasionally one or 2 would stick but they lasted me for ages! I think if i was using them for a younger child i would have got throu them a lot faster and in such a cash maybe they should come invarying sizes.

they stayed fresh and moist in the pack.

i cant comment on the price as we didnt actually pay for them!

"Over priced"

Having suffered with haemorrhoids during both my pregnancies and after I was eager to try this new wipes. I did find them soothing and a lot more comfortable than using ordinary toilet paper.

The negative side is that they are very expensive considering that apart from their name there is little else in them that is different from any other moist toilet wipe, therefore I think they are over priced. Further I felt that they packaging was slightly miss leading as they are not medicated so do not actually help reduce haemorrhoids.

Despite this I do think they are a good product but feel that the price should be reduced and the packaging more clear as they are merely a moist wipe and not a medicated treatment wipe.

"Soothing"

Although I am very lucky never to have suffered from haemorrhoids, these wipes definitely cleanse and have a soothing effect. I used them as a moist alternative to toilet paper. They can be flushed down the toilet after each use.

The ingredients....a blend of horse chestnut, peony, witch hazel and calendula to calm and soothe delicate skin.

I understand they retail around £4-£4.50 which is quite pricey for 40 wipes, but if they do what they are supposed to do then I would definitely buy them to ease the discomfort.

"a godsend"

These came just at the right time had my third child on 21st August and these were in my hospital bag they are really discreet the packaging just looks like moist toilet tissue. They were just what i wanted very cooling and refreshing, made you feel clean straight away. And they are very soothing for the nasty little things that i always seem to get after giving birth. I would definately recommend them to other mums to be to have in their hospital bag. They arent cheap but they do the job and i think they are well worth the money. Even my husband has used a couple mistaking them for toiledt wipes and he thinks they are great too. And the fact that they are flushable is a great bonus.

"undecided"

Was sceptical when sent these wipes and am still sitting on the fence about them. Having suffered with all three pregnancies I can see the benefit of them and that they would be easier to use than cream when you are the size of a house. Also the packaging is discreet so you can leave them in view without telling guests about your piles!! However they are quite expensive at a time when everyone is feeling the pinch. I am sure that if I was still pregnant and suffering though these could be a godsend whatever the price!!!

"great and soothing"

A great alternative to toilet tissue.
Soft, fragrance free and flushable.
In a resealable pack too.
The back of the packet states - can be used for wiping before haemmoroid cream is applied - but it is not all over the packaging so discreet enough to leave in the bathroom.
Contains some witch hazel - good for cooling those sore bite.

Wish I had these in my bathroom after the birth of my children.

"A bit unsure "

When I got the email saying I was getting the Nelsons H care wipes to product review, I was a bit unsure because I was very lucky and still am lucky because I never suffered from piles during or after my pregnancy.
In my opinion the wipes are expensive for the amount that you get of them, and in my eyes a wipe is a wipe.
A good point of them is that they are in very discreet packaging and can be kept in the bathroom discreetly.

"soothing and gentle"

These wipes are soothing and gentle. I wish I had had them months before the birth of each one of my 4 children as I do suffer from piles in pregnancy, and for weeks after the births too. I used to wet the toilet roll to give it a more cooling sensation, but these wipes are fantastic. These cool the area down but don't leave a wet feeling. They are discreet in the bathroom - you have to read the details on the back to see they are for piles, and they are flushable too. The packaging reseals again so as they don't dry out - which is good, and they are a good size and I have found that one wipe is enough. They may seem expensive when compared to other wipes, but other wipes would not sooth the pain of piles and bring down swelling like these would. An overall good buy, and when you are suffering from piles like I did, you would pay the extra money for some relief.

"soothing"

I wish I had known about these wipes after having my children, as I did suffer terribly with haemorrhoids after each of their births. The wipes are soft and strong, and do provide an instant cooling sensation. You only need to use one wipe at a time and they dispense easily from the packet. The packaging looks good quality and doesnt make it obvious that the product is for piles. The product is quite expensive, however, I would be more than prepared to pay for it, considering I know the pain and discomfort of piles and had a severe dislike of using medicated creams for the condition- I found them unpleasant and uncomfortable to use and not particularly effective. Top marks from me I just wish Id known about them after Id had my children!

"Soothing and Gentle"

Luckily I've never suffered with piles or anything similar so I wasn't sure I'd be able to review these wipes but I thought I may as well try them out in the place of toilet tissue. They are very gentle and soothing, and cleanse effectively - often only needing to use one wipe and importantly they were fully flushable. The packaging is quite discreet (in that it doesn't scream piles) but it does look quite medical and I'm not sure I'd want it in the loo if guests were around! However if I were to suffer and be in need, I'd definitely buy these as they were very gentle and soothing and would have been great for all the tenderness that follows giving birth.

"A must for your hospital bag!"

I wish I had known about these wipes when I had my daughters as I would definitely have had a pack in my hospital bag! The wipes are designed to be a soft and gentle alternative to ordinary toilet paper and are espcially useful if you suffer from haemorrhoids or constipation.

The wipes come in a small, discrete pack with a moisture lock lid, which makes them really easy to use. The lid seals the pack completely so the wipes stay fresh and moist, and it's very easy to remove inidvidual wipes so there's no waste. I was pleased that the wipes are paraben free and also that they are flushable and biodegradeable.

I am lucky never to have suffered haemorrhoids, even while pregnant, but I remember how uncomfortable I felt after giving birth and how sore ordinary toilet paper made me. These wipes clean effectiviely and gently, and are very soothing. The wipes are quite expensive at £4.15 for a pack of 40, but they are quite specialised and not something you would have to use for any length of time (hopefully!). I think it would be worth spending money on these to take with you into hospital and to use at home after the birth, as they really would make post-birth toilet visits far more pleasant!

"soothing product"

I always suffer piles (aghh) during pregnancy and usually wipes leave a kind of burning sensation after use. The Nelson H+ care wipes didn't give the burning sensation also didn't leave you feeling dry or wet and left a cleansed feeling.
After a few days of using i also noticed that there was no itchyness and total comfort.
I do find the product a little pricey, but well worth paying to ease discomfort

"Quick and effective"

Unfortunately, I did suffer from piles after childbirth, so I would have been grateful to have had these wipes then. At the time, I used witch hazel wipes as witch hazel is a natural astringent and is a renowned remedy for hemorrhoids. So, I was pleasantly surprised that this product also contained witch hazel, aloe vera (anti-inflammatory, anti- bacterial, and anti-viral, horse chestnut, peony and calendula to calm and soothe the delicate skin and irratated area. Each tissue is soft, moist and contains natural plant extracts. The wipes are a convinient, quick and effective way of reducing the symptoms of piles temporarily. Each wipe is also, paraben and perfume-free, as well as being biodegradable and easily flushable. The packaging is relatively discreet, and the plastic lid is a good way of retaining moisture. However, the downside to the product is the price. Being £4.35 for a pack of 40 wipes, it works out to be almost 11p per wipe.

"quite pricey"

When I first received these I wondered how I was going to write a review, when I had been lucky enough not to have experinced piles. However, I was stiched quite a lot after the birth and although the stitches have healed I did find these wipes quite soothing. The wipes have a lovely fresh smell and are very soft.
They are very discreetly packaged and they keep the moisture in very well - even after being opened
However at £4.15 per packet of 40 wipes I find this really expensive and would probably not buy them in the future.

very easy to use, soothing and come in a discreet packaging so if they are left in your bathroom and friends pop round they dont all know your problem... maybe a little expensive but i believe if they help soothe and they work they are well worth the money!!!

Well when i first got sent these i wondered how i was going to write a review as i was lucky not to get piles during pregnancy or childbirth but after eating chilli peanuts last night i found good use for them!! I found them very cool and soothing and didn't leave you feeling wet after using them as anyone knows having an upset tummy can leave you quite sore from all the toilet trips but have to say i am feeling fine not sure i would go out and buy them again but if i was unlucky enough to get piles then i would definately consider them.

"Very soothing and much needed"

These arrived just in time for me, having had Isabelle two weeks ago and having a c section, I did suffer from piles and was quite constipated after the birth, I had put some baby wipes in the bathroom as wiping with normal paper was a bit sore but not being able to flush them and then the question of what to do with them was an issue.

So I have found these wipes convenient and soothing and think they are a really good idea for anyone suffering.

They are pricey and I would prefer it if they did not cost so much but it is worth it for your return from hospital or if you are suffering badly on the odd occasion.

I dont think that this is something that I would regularly stock up on due to the price though but with the plastic lid hopefully they would not dry out quickly and a packet may last a while if you use them sparingly.

"I wish I'd known about these"

As the title says I wish I'd known about these wipes after the birth of my daughter. Maybe there should be a sample or leaflet in the free bounty pack your given on discharge.
I trialed these without having piles thankfully mine have gone.If I had known about them I may have used them at the time.
I found the packaging easy to get into and moisture lock lid kept the wipes damp, not like other wipes where they dry out.
They were soft to touch. Were of an ample size, thickness and didnt take long after use for your skin to dry.
They are quite pricey to use as toilet paper £4.15 for 40 wipes but for short term use I would pay it.
I didnt experience any problems with the disposal of them as they flushed every time they were used.
I couldnt find any fault with these wipes. I would definately recommend them to my friends and family who were pregnant. When I return back to work I'd even recommend them to patients who may benifit from them.

"Paying for the packaging"

These wipes look good, the packaging is lovely and clean looking and discreetly labelled which means you could take them out and about without too much embarrassment should they fall out of your bag as they don't shout HAEMMORHOIDS at you lol. The plastic lift top is great as it saves the pack coming open and the wipes drying out as happens sometimes with baby wipes but on the downside its a bit of extra packaging that probably isnt needed in this day and age of reducing packaging. The wipes themselves are soft and soothing and definately do the job they claim to do, it definately is a viable alternative or aid to cream or ointment though my issue is that like wet wipes one is joined to the next so you try to get one wipe out and a string of them come out and you end up having to shove them back into the packet. All in all I liked the product but the main problem for me was the price. It seems to me you are paying mostly for nice packaging. If it came down to closer to £2 a packet i'd definately buy them but £4 for 40 wipes is a bit of a stretch for me, i rather just use a wet wipe to be honest if i needed something of that type.

"Quite pricy"

Wouldn't particulary buy these wipes after having a baby, retail price being around £4 i think its quite expensive.
I guess if you are really suffering then they would do the job of soothing but didn't find that they done much for myself.
The product is good quality, and has been well thought about and think for some people they would help relieve any uncofortable feeling.

"Soothing and cleansing"

I wish I knew about these after giving birth to ds. I had horrendous piles and for a fortnight after each bowel movement I had to have a shower to clean and soothe my undercarriage as I found normal dry toilet paper too harsh for a very delicate area.

I considered using baby wipes but was put off as they aren’t meant to be flushed away and worried that some may irritate me.

Ds is now approaching four months, and thankfully my piles have gone but I am left with anal fissures. NelsonH+ Care Wipes have been a pleasant find and I do find them much more soothing to use after a bowel movement than traditional toilet paper.

They are as you would expect, very easy to use, they feel gentle and I definitely feel cleaner after using them. They flush away like normal toilet paper.

They are quite pricey, much more so than the other moist toilet wipes on the market which I am now tempted to try, although NelsonH+ Care Wipes are aimed to soothe those with piles, rather than just to clean.

If my piles ever were to return I would most certainly use these again. Despite the price, they are not a "bum" deal and I would not hesitate to recommend these to any poor souls with piles!

"Expensive for Toilet Paper"

My husband and I have both been using these for a week, and have found that the wipes are soothing and very soft to use. A lot softer than the moist children toilet paper that we have had in the house before.

After three children I do sometimes suffer from piles, so I would probably use them again, but only when I was suffering.

They are easy to flush, and even when my husband has used three at a time they have flushed away easily.

It seems strange to say that while really like them, and would probably have them in the house, that the cost of them means, for us, that they are not for every day use.
