"Hilarious!"

Well the box said 8+, so I happily packed it up for a weekend in Edinburgh with a load of friends. Yes I looked like a pack horse at the train station, but I had a feeling it would be worth it and I wasn't disappointed. Take 10 grown women and one Mindflex, the result? Total hilarity.
The game itself consists of a headset that reads your brainwaves, a bit like a mini EEG machine and a main console. The idea is that the headset recognises your brainwaves and starts a fan in the main console, you then use your brainwaves to control the fan as it blows a ball through an obstacle course. The harder you concentrate the more the fan blows raising the ball higher, the less you concentrate the slower the fan blows and the ball goes lower. There is a control knob to turn the fan and this makes the ball go left or right. There are 3 games with time limits and fortunately they do come with beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, otherwise we would have got nowhere on those courses! The other two games have no time limit, so these are definitely the two to start with. The obstacles consist of hoops, a funnel, see-saw, maze cages, cannon and propeller wheel. You can set your course up however you like, which we were thankful for as some of those obstacles seemed impossible!
I'll admit it is very addictive, you get close to completing an obstacle and just miss it, so you are determined to concentrate more or less to get that ball to go where you want it. Lots of fun and an awful lot of laughter was created. I'm convinced two of my friends have no brains as they couldn't even get the fan to start!
It's a fantastic idea and the only downside I could find was, I'm afraid, the price. At £80 it is rather expensive, but if you can afford it (or if you can grab it in the sales), then I'd say go for it, it certainly is family entertainment!
