Liquid soap flakes are pure soap, environmentally friendly, good for sensitive skin, not tested on animals - so sounded promising. I used the sample bottle to wash a load of towels. As it had no smell it was hard to feel convinced that the washing was clean and I ended up washing it all again with my normal powder. I won't be buying this product.

"Not for me at all"

I love the smell of freshly washed clothes and this product DOES NOT offer that, there was no smell at all so i felt like my clothes weren't clean.

I did a wash of my little girls and i must admit they all came out clean but i still wasn't happy as no smell

Then i did a wash of my partners work clothes, well lets just say i had to wash it again in our normal liquid as the marks were still there and they weren't washed very well at all.

I know its Eco friendly and everything but its still not for me at all,

Sorry but i wouldn't recommend and i wont be buying for myself, i gave the bit left in the bottle to me Nan,

Like others have said, there are no flakes, it is a bit like washing gel, only slightly thinner.

Liquid soap flakes are pure soap, no fragrance to it at all, which is a bit strange when you do your wash and don't get that "freshly washed smell" from your normal powder.

I used the liquid soap flakes on three different types of wash, a wool wash, a normal wash and on waterproof coats, as it said on the bottle it was suitable for this.

On the wool wash the liquid soap flakes were quite good, cleaned without any shedding of fibres.
so would use again for this type of wash.

On the normal wash, you could see it really wasn't up to the job of cleaning clothes my children had been rolling round the garden/park in!!!
Back to my normal powder for this load!

On the waterproofs it worked well too, though these were waterproofs my husband had used for sea fishing and the liquid soap flakes, whilst cleaning them, didn't do a lot for the smell!!!

Obviously to get around the lack of smell issue, you would just use fabric softner.

Would I but Liquid Soap flakes again???

Maybe if I had another small sized bottle, as I would only use it for the odd wool cycle, (2 childrens cardigans), or for my husbands waterproofs.

I wouldn't use it for a normal family wash.

"sorry but its a no from me"

As everyone else has said this didnt remove stains and no smell!!! But i do love the fact its so eco and animal friendly.

I like that this product contains no chemicals and that its not tested on animals but it has no smell and did not remove the stains in the wash. I was disappointed and can honestly say that I won't be buying this product.

"Flaky Flakes"

Unfortunately this wasn’t for me. There were no bubbles, no smell and no result. Probably good for clothes that just need a freshen up but no good for kids clothes which are covered in everything from baked beans to grass stains. This house is full of stained clothes (kids and adults!) so no good to us. Sorry.

"not impressed"

after following the usage instructions i was dissaointed that there was no suds in the machine at all. Once the washing was done it was clean however the stains on the childrens clothes remained. there was also no scent left on the clothes at all which is a no no for me, i like clothes to smell fresh. I think this must aimed at people with severe allergies

"Wouldn't purchase."

As previous reviewers have said this product is odourless, i just felt after using it that i hadn't really washed my clothes as i did not have the usually lovely smelling freshly washed clothing - this is a major factor for me personally i love to smell clean clothes, and with this product you could not really tell.

Also as previous review has stated it is not good if you have children as it doen;t remove little stains or anything so i will for now be sticking to my usual washing products.

"Disappointed"

I was keen to use this product and eventually settled on two different materials. One, the seat for my Zapp pushchair and the other was a pile of the children's underwear. Both had disappointing results. No Stains were removed and once clothes were dry, you'd never believe they has been washed. I was hoping if the product was any good, I could have used them for the Nappies my new baby will be going through but alas, that will not be happening.

First off let me say that the sample provided was only enough to do one load of washing. I used ours on a white wash, the washing came out looking no cleaner than when it went in, also as previous testers have said as there was no smell the washing didn't even smell clean. I won't be buying this as with a 2 and a 4 year old which seem to attract dirt it just wasn't up to the job.

I tried the liquid soap flakes with two wash loads, one red/pink and one white and I wasn't overly impressed. I know that they are environmentally friendly, which I like but I wouldn't change from my usual washing powder.
I love the smell of fresh washing and I feel that the smell of my washing powder is quite important, liquid soap flakes are odourless so I wasn't keen on that element of it.
My pink red wash came out ok but my white wash didn't look particularly clean and it didn't remove any of the light stains that my usual powder would have.
Overall I wouldn't buy this product but that doesn't mean to say it's not a good one. It may be better for people who don't have children or messy clothes.

"what flakes"

I was surprised when i got this product as i was expecting a box of soap flakes but it was a little bottle of liquid. Its a good product that its not tested on animals and contains no chemicals but it has no smell and i didnt thing it was great at removing stains i have a 21 month daughter who insists on feeding herself and getting most of it on her clothes but the liquid flakes were not good at getting the harsh stains out.

Well what can i say i used nearly the whole bottle on one wash and i must admit it wasnt great, i washed my daughters play t-shirts which had a few marks on from food etc.. but they didnt come out.
Also i was disappointed their was no smell to the product, i wont recomend this product and wont be buying it for myself

"Not overly impressed."

The first thing I noticed was it is liquid not flakes as the name suggests. I also thought the packaging was quite plain so it wouldn't jump out at me from the supermarket shelves. I used the product to handwash delicates and although it lathered up reasonably well I didn't feel it washed as well as my normal cleaner. I understand it is aimed for use on clothes worn by people with sensitive skin, but a light fragrance would have been nice. The plus points are it isn't tested on animals and is eco friendly. However, I'm afraid that I won't be adding it to my weekly shopping list. I feel in the long run it would cost me double what I usually pay for washing liquid as I only use 35ml just now but it is recommended you use between 50 and 100mls per wash for this product.

"it was ok"

It did its job the clothes came out clean, One of my children suffers with sensitive skin and loads of different chemicals send it flaring but happy to say this didn't. The downside is that it is odourless.

I didnt mind this product. It had good points and bad. I really like that it's good for sensitive skin, its not tested on animals, it's suitable for use at low temperatures and that it's a liquid soap.
However, I didnt really like the smell of the washing after using the product and I'm not convinced it's better than my usual product at getting the laundry clean.

Ok, when I got this I was a little surprised that it contained no flakes as the name suggests. 2ndly as others have said the lack of fresh smell means your not sure if clothes have actually been washed. Having 2 young children I decided to try this on a light wash containing everyday stains(pasta sauce, chocolate, and makeup) As the bottle said to use between 50-100ml I used the whole bottle and still ended up having to rewash the majority of clothes as they were still stained.
All in all I wouldn't go out and purchase this product as it would end up costing more money in the long run with rewashing etc

"wasnt over keen as like smells"

when they arrived the first thing that i did was smell them. i love fresh smells but no scent which i would have loved a few years ago when my children were smaller but nowadays i always sniff before i buy.

each wash needs between 50 to 100ml depneding on drumsize.
I washed a normal the clothes came out pretty clean some deeper marks remained which would usually be removed but my biggest downer was they didnt smell fresh which i like. This would be ideal for newborns when you want something gentle to use.

On a big plus myself and my children have sensitive skin and we had no itches after wearing our clothes once washed with Liquid soap flakes.

This isnt bad value for money £3.05 for a 15 wash bottle
I personally wouldnt buy this product as i love scents and like my washing to have a fresh smell to it.

it does what it says and is gentle on skin and unscented i would recommend for very sensetive skin and little ones who have delicate skin.

"Not fantastic"

I was a bit about this. No fragrance for a start and like many people I do like my clean clothes to have that 'clean smell'.
First load I washed with the product was a dark load. My 10 year old's jeans are always grass stained, so a pretty good test for this. Unfortunately the jeans had to be rewashed as the stains were still evident. As far as I'm aware everything else got cleaned, but with most of the load being unstained it was hard to tell. It didn't smell of anything which was just weird!
Second load was a white load, with plenty of stains in the form of pasta sauce, dirty white socks, more grass stains etc. I knew the grass stains wouldn't come out but I thought I'd bung them in there anyway! I was right grass stains still there and those clothes rewashed. I did give it the benefit of the doubt with the pasta sauce stains as even my usual brand leaves a slight mark. The sun did bleach a lot of the stain out though.
It's not a product I'd buy myself, but for someone with a newborn baby that needs a delicate product it would be ideal.

"just ok!"

Well, it's been said by everyone else already - boring packaging, NO SMELL!!, and I would say it cleaned the clothes adequately, but certainly not brillantly....and I used nearly the whole bottle on just one load, as it said on the bottle use between 50-100ml per wash. So, I wouldn't buy it again, but it wasn't awful either.

"Environmentally friendly alternative"

Used this product for a couple of washes as I was interested to see how it would fare compared to what I usually use. For lightly soiled clothes in the washing machine it worked quite well. I then used it as a handwash for a dress of my daughters which I didn't want to risk in the machine, Again, it worked well. I think it worked better as a handwash though if I'm honest.
The only downsides are the lack of fragrance and the price. However, as the product has no fragrances added, it's more likely to be good for delicate clothes and delicate skin. I also like the fact that the product had not been tested on animals and is palm oil free. Great environmentally friendly product.

ok so when it arrived my initial thought was ok just 2 washes then .. i best try on 2 completely different loads.

2nd thought ... no smell :(

the packaging was pretty non descript and i think the title is a little odd .. yes its liquid but theres no flakes !!

i decided to use on a load of lightly soiled colours .. this was fine as nothing was stained it all just needed freshening up, i hung washing on the line to dry. to be honest i couldnt tell if it had been washed or not when i picked it in as there was no clean fresh fragrance to it, the only way i could tell it had been washed was from the peg marks left behind :(

2nd load i decided to get tough .. i tried it on a white wash that contained my 15 year old boys dirty socks !!!! now thats what i call a test !! i washed at 40 degrees which according to the blurb would be fine (bear in mind i usually do this wash at 65 degrees even with my usual brand). again i hung on the line to dry .... well about half of it got hung out the other half went back in for another wash :( and again the only way to tell it had been washed was the peg marks as no fresh fragrance

i appreciate that the lack of fragrance is a must have for some people but for me personally i love it when i can still smell that the clothes are clean when i take them oiut of the wardrobe a week later.

i looked out for this product in the supermarket a few days later to see what the price was, and it took me a good few minutes to spot it on the shelf, it didnt stand out at all and if i hadnt been looking purposely i dont think i would have seen it at all. and for the price i think i will pass thankyou.

"NOT BAD !!"

I wasn't very impressed with the packaging.I decided to use it on my 5yr olds delicate dressing up clothes ie.netting,lace,glitter,satin,transfers etc.at 30 degrees.They all came out perfectly clean.I prefer my detergent to have a nice fragrance though so perhaps not something i would choose but i can see the benefits of using it for very low temperature washes so there is no residue.

"Didn't amaze me."

I'm one of those people that likes to "stay in my comfort zone"....when I find a product I like and know works then I tend to stick with it and when it comes to washing detergent I have to be very careful as my 7 year old son has excema which is effected badly by detergents and fabric conditioners...I was pleasantly suprised that Liquid Soap flakes didn't effect his skin badly at all.

It is a strange sensation going from a powder detergent to a liquid one and gauging the right amount of the product needed is a little tricky at first if you're not a liquid user.....not enough and the clothes don't get a proper clean....too much and it's wasteful. When the right amount is used the clothes come out nice and clean, no more then my usual Surcare powder I must admit but at least it did it's job. It has no real fragrance which I prefer as I'm not a big fan on heavily scented detergents and you can always use a fragranced fabric softener if you do like a certain fresh or floral scent to your washing. I've only used the Liquid Soap on a medium heat setting and am not sure how well it would work on a hotter wash or on heavily stained items.

Packaging wise it's not particularly exciting, in fact it reminds me of some kind of own brand pound shop product, it wouldn't stand out amoungst other products on a shelf and shout "buy me"...but it's not the packaging you're buying it for really.

In all honesty I would describe it as an average product, in the end it's fairly easy to use, but it's no better or worse then any standard washing detergent....it cleans well, has no scent and is gentle on sensitive skin, one small positive I did find was it leaves no residue in the detergent drawer unlike powders....as far as value for money is concerned I would also rate it as average, there are cheaper products available that would do the job just as well. I would use it again but only in the event that my usual powder wasn't available as I know i'll get decent results on our clothes without it effecting my little boys skin.

"mixed feeling"

It looks a little bland!! I thought the packaging was very boring and i thought, this wouldn't catch my eye in the supermarket aisle. There was no scent, but I will say when i had used half the bottle i noticed the clothing was clean and seemed fresh. I wouldn't buy the product.

I thought the pakaging was quite boring and would not capture my attention to buy it. I thought it was very easy to use. I do not like washing detergents that have no smell and would prefer to use detergents with a fresh smell. The clothes washed ok at 40 however did not remove tougher stains as well as my usual detergent. I dont think i would purchase this product in the future due to the bland smell.

I wasnt very pleased with this product it didnt have any scent which i usually prefer a scent to my washing. it might be a good thing in one sense if its for delicates. didnt notice much difference to the clothing i used. i dont think this is a product i would use on a regular basis, only now and then for a change to my usual product.

i liked the fact the liquid soap had no smell, lets you know there are not nasty chemicals in it, unfortunately my 1 year old daughter has eczema and sensitive skin, after using the liquid soap she had a flare up. im not 100 percent sure if it was the flakes as she has been a little unwell but i hadnt used anything else out of the ordinary, i wouldnt risk trying a 2nd time, the clothes did not wash too well, alot of stains still remained so i wont be buying this product.

Used this in a machine wash... did smell nice and clothes did feel soft after washing. Personaly, i woulndn't rush out and buy all the time, but doesn't mean to say that its no good. Have offered it to my mum in law to use as well and she likes it! :-)

I used the soap flakes on a white wash which contained a pale pink tracksuit my daughter had been playing in her grandads garden wearing and sadly it didnt get the stains out so had to do a re-wash. As all the other reviewers have said I also missed that freshly washed smell! Sorry soap flakes but im sticking to my usual wash brand.

"use for hand washing"

I have a 1 yr old with mild excema, so wanted to use this product to see if it helps wash his clothes without irritating his skin.
I think the lack of smell, no fragrance is a negative for me, and did not feel it did the job as well as my normal detergent. I would use this if i had really special silk clothes to hand wash.
I would not buy this for my normal everyday washing.

"gets clothes clean"

I wasnt sure what soap flakes were but was prepared to give them a go. It is perfume free so didnt have that gorgeous smell, which is one of the things I like from my washing liquids. I washed some baby clothes and yes it did bring them up nice and clean, but I did miss the fresh just been washed smell that I like. It also contains palm oil which is good for outdoor clothing, although I never tried this option. This liquid soap is ok just not for me.

I must admit I was a bit dubious about trying this product on my daughters washing as she has very sensitive skin, but gave it a go, and am pleased to say it didnt cause her eczema to flare up, so thumbs up there. I was a bit disappointed however that it had no fragrance at all, as I tend to love the 'just washed' smell, and this product had literally no smell at all. It washed well, although wasnt very good on stains. It did however make other half's work jacket lovely and clean. I dont think its somethin I would buy again, as I like my washing to have some kind of fragrance to it

"No suds, but it did the job"

Like the other reviewer, the first thing I did was smell the liquid soap flakes when it arrived. It didn't smell of anything in particular, which gave me confidence that it would be perfect for washing my little one's clothes (he has mild eczema).

I tried handwashing a couple of soiled vests first - and it did very little. However, after a few hours of soaking and rubbing, the vests came out ok. Not a great result if you don't have time to spare.

I then washed his waterproof change bag which needed a wash and the liquid soap is supposed to be good on waterproof items. I could physically see the dirt in the washbowl! A great result.

Liquid soap is ok if you have very little washing and great for delicates. However, if you need to get your washing done quickly, and like it to smell clean, it's probably not the detergent for you.

"Ok, but not spectacular"

I used the product both with a hand wash and with a machine wash. The handwash was for my daughters school coat and swimming bag which worked well, the items emerged clean and lived up to the manufacturers statement of being good for waterproof items.
The machine wash worked ok on the cleaning aspect although the clothes laundered weren't particularly soiled before they went in the machine. My disappointement lies with the lack of fresh laundry smell, in fact there is no smell. This may be intentional by the manufacturers and preferred by some consumers but is not for me.

"not my usual washing product"

The first thing i did was to smell this product, as i do like my clothes to have that fresh smell. It doesnt have a scent to the product so thought maybe there would be a scent when the clothes have been washed, it didnt. Its really easy to use i got 2 washes out of a 100ml bottle, it didnt get 1 or 2 of the stains out of my boys clothes. The normal retail price is £3.05 for 750ml not sure i would buy it at that price. Having a partner who has a number of outdoor waterproof jackets, i used my 2nd wash on these jackets as it says on the bottle it is palm oil free which is good to wash these kinds of jackets and they came out better than they went in. Having 2 boys that have mild eczema i found it didnt affect their skin which i was pleased with. The only negative point is you wouldnt get that many washes out of the bottle for the price it is. The bad point is it doesnt get some stains out. The only 2 good points for me is it washes outdoor jackets well and it was kind to my childrens skin.

"Washes well"

I used this product to do 2 washes. A colour wash and a white wash. It washed the clothes well,they came out clean and there was no residue. I do like to use perfumed washing liquids usually (Liquid Soap Flakes is perfume free) but I did use it with a baby friendly slightly perfumed conditioner and the clothes did come out smelling fresh and slightly perfumed from the conditioner.
When dry,the clothes were soft and ironed well.
As a mother of 4,with appx 2 loads of washing a day, this product would not be value for money for me.
Overall I would recommend this product to a friend who wanted a perfume free washing liquid.

"great for sensitive skin"

I used this washing liquid for 2 washes and found it was ok, it cleaned the clothes well but I don't think it would be up to the job with all the dirt my boys seen to manage to get on their clothes. I would say that as it is not perfumed it would be great for 2 of my boys that have eczema, nothing in it to irritate their skin. I am not sure I would swap my normal washing liquid for this one as I do like to have a powerful scent to my clothes after washing and conditioner alone does not seem to do this with this product.overall it washed well, is great for sensitive skin and I like the liquid form.

"Ok product"

Having a child with severe eczema I thought this was a nice product, I used it twice on my daughters clothing & so far no reactions. This is a product I might buy if on offer but the clothes didn't smell as fresh as normal, and some stubborn marks didn't come out (spag bol on white trousers - her Daddy got her dressed that day lol) so I wouldn't rush out to buy it. I prefer to use a conditioner (comfort pure) to give clothes a softer feeling, this sadly didn't do that on it's own.

"Disappointing product"

I am always prepared to try new laundry products as I have a mountain of washing every week, I have never tried liquid soap flakes so wasn't too sure what they were. (still not too sure really!). I tend to buy the washing powder/liquid that smells the nicest and this was disappointingly non-descript, it literally didn't smell of anything - perhaps that's the point, I'm not too sure! I did 2 washes with the liquid and it cleaned the clothes satisfactorily, but without the fabric conditioner didn't leave the washing smelling clean and fresh which is a must for me.

I couldn't see any advantages about this liquid against my current liquid so will definitely not be swapping what I'm currently using. I wouldn't recommend this product as I can see no advantages of using it.

"wouldnt reccomend"

used this for 2 washes and although the clothes came out clean it wasnt anything special... the clothes didnt smell particularly nice like some washing powders do...only plus side was it can be used on low heated washes.
wouldnt buy it again rather stick to my usual brand

"Nothing special"

This was okay to use but as with other washing liquids you can see bubbles I'n the machine. With these soap flakes there was nothing but the washing did come out clean so it obviously worked. I wouldn't go out and buy it but I would use it if it was offered to me.

"Okay product"

I used the product for a couple of washes and found it to be okay, lots of similar products on the market. Would i rush out and but it again? No not really but if is was on offer etc... then yes i would use it again. Does what it says on the bottle.
