"Ok Item"

First appearances of the dummy cord and dribble bib was that it was nice and simple, would go with pactically any of my son's clothing, turned it over and noticed the cow print which i thought was pretty cute!

We have tried dummy cords in the past, but found that my son easily pulls it off and ends up launching, not only the dummy, but the dummy cord too...The length 'n' loop fastener was much harder for him to pull off, he gave up trying in the end, however he seemed very frustrated with the bib, he wears a dribble bib most of the time when we're out, but this one is much more bulky and irritating for him, so in the end we just used the length 'n' loop fastener on its own and attached it to the strap on his buggy.

It is fine to use when there is something to attach the loop to, but when we took him out of his buggy there was nothing we could loop it on to...I will continue to use it for in the buggy, but will have to figure out what else to use when he is out of it...

At £3.99 for 3 of them I found them quite pricey for what they are...Don't think I would personally go out and buy them. :)

"i didnt like this at all"

when i first got this i thought it looked very pretty, unfortunately when i took a proper look at it i decided i didnt feel it was safe and didnt want to try it on my son.

it was made out of thin ribbon and a big loop, he could easily have gotten his arm caught up in it and either ended up with a nasty burn from it, or if i had used it at ngiht time he could have cut off the blood supply to his arm/hand/fingers.

the ribbon was also attached to itself by a metal popper. it was very small and this was another reason i wasnt comfortable testing it on my son. because the ribbon was very thin it looked very flimsy, all it would have taken was one of my other children to pull it, or my youngest to pull it, and the popper could have come out of the ribbon, creating not only a choking hazard from it, but also defeatign the object of having it in the first place because the dummy would then have been lost.

i've also got a bib to use it with because it had a special loop to attach the dummy clip to. like another person has said, with it becoming warmer there are fewer things to attach this loop to, so is it a way of gettign people to buy their other products in order to use the dummy clip?

sorry but this wasnt for me at all. i didnt feel it was safe in the least and at basically £4 for three, if its as good as its supposed to be, why would you need 3?

"Good product"

We have tried many of the dummy cords on the market. I have found with velcro Ella just pulled them off and we were back to square one with the lost dummies. Also with the other dummy holders on the market they are hard to attach to clothes and have wasted many of her hand knitted jumpers.

The length n loop dummy fastener solves both these problems. With a stud fastening it was harder for her to undo it. Also being a loop of fabric meant it could easily attach to clothes, seat belts etc without ruining everything.

The downside to the length n loop is you need to have something to attach the loop to - button hole, a zip, bib etc. This isn't always available - especially as the summer comes and t-shirts become the clothing of choice.

We found the length n loop stressed Ella out a fair bit. She was only using a dummy at night and nap time, but with the arrival of the twins, she has become much more attached to her dummy as a comforter. However putting the length n loop on her dummy and then attaching it to her zip on her jacket she wasn't able to hold it and she kept shouting "my dummy's stuck. Help me" It made for a very stressful car journey for us all.

Also at £3.99 for 3 of them I find them a little pricey. Then add on the products to attach it to, could make a very expensive purchase.

"So simple but so effective!"

Why oh why didn't I discover this before?! It's such a simple idea but does the job so well! At 21 months Ben only has a dummy in bed at night or in the car (as we have a long commute of over an hour to work and back every day and I need it to keep my sane!) Bedtime causes no trouble at all as he isn't bothered if it falls out (in fact I often remove it once he has gone to sleep) however the car is often more problematic. Occasionally he will throw his dummy in a fit of over-tired temper - soon wanting it back, or will just drop it by accident.

Of course when driving this isn't something I can easily rectify but causes me a real headache as he can get quite cross about it! I bought a standard dummy clip to attach to his seat belt but he pulled it off within seconds - total waste of money. The "length n loop" is just genius - it loops around his seatbelt and through the dummy and fastens with a press stud (which so far Ben has managed to unclip once in 5 days). This means the dummy is available to him when he wants it and he can't lose it. Initially he got quite frustrated as he wasn't able to move his dummy around quite as much as he would chose but I explained that the "special string" was to stop him from losing it and he seemed to get the idea. He now just calls it his "special string" and seems happy that his dummy is there waiting for him - and I'm enjoying some peace on those long drives home!!
