"Amazing"
The Kiddy energy pro is by far the most user friendly car seat I have ever encountered. It's innovative design incorporates the new improved Kiddy impact shield; a design that allows for both quick placement in, and removal from, your vehicle. The modern design is a stylish combination of specially designed materials to optimise both safety and comfort for your child.
So, just what have Kiddy done to create a great balance between comfort, style, and most importantly, safety. Well, as stated, the new improved impact shield has been designed to reduce the risk of injury through dissipation of the energy created in an impact. It achieves this through its unique construction of highly shock-absorbing materials and an additional energy absorbing layer, made from high-tech materials (referred to as “Honey Comb V2”) integrated into the impact shield surface. This “Honey Comb V2” material is also installed in the head and shoulder areas of the seat.
What does this mean for your child? The “Honey Comb V2” material is designed to slowly and steadily reduce the force of impact in case of an accident; impact forces are directed into the impact shield, thus preventing the baby's head from being abruptly thrown forward or backward (as is the case in most conventional shoulder harnesses). This new impact shield has been designed to absorb 100% of the energy created in a crash. To say this is a good thing would be an understatement. This seat reduces the risk of serious neck injuries by reducing the force through the neck by up to 50%.
Comfort as standard thanks to the generous seat spacing and the specially designed breathable “Thermotex” material introduced to specific areas of the seat. The unique design of the material allows for greater air circulation, reducing the issue of sticky, sweaty clothes during hot days out. It can be moved into the reclining position in a matter of seconds, as can the headrest.
The cover on the seat comes in various modern design styles and can be removed and washed at 30oC, while dry dirt can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth. There are a number of additional accessories which may be purchased to add some individuality/ personal touches.
I absolutely love this car seat because of the ease of use and the knowledge I have that my son is absolutely in the best form of protection available. My son, Kaleb, loves it because he can use the impact shield as a resting place for toys/drawing materials and easily finds comfort enough to fall asleep. Our 9 Month old son also find the Kiddy Seat ever so comfortable as he sat quite happily in it as usually he gets upset at being placed in his normal car seat. You will love it when you try it.
The RRP is £169 which is a fantastic price to pay for an innovative, modern and superbly comfortable car seat.

"Unusual but great!"
My initial impressions with the car seat when it first arrived were amazement at how light it actually is and once it was out of the box the quality of the seat itself was unmistakable. We got the Raspberry colourway and it is a beautiful colour, pink but not overly girly. The fabric feels very luxurious, almost velvety, which my daughter liked the feel of. It is also very padded which I think would make it very comfortable.
The car seat is simple to install, and coupled with the fact it is extremely lightweight, this would make it easy to switch from car to car. This seat could also be used in cars without ISOFIX capabilities. You just place it on your car seat, sit the child in, secure with the impact shield and pull the seat belt round to secure. There are instructions provided in the manual and also on the website, but it is pretty straightforward to check you have it right when your child is in the seat. There is also a cushion in the bottom of the seat which is adjustable (folds out) depending on the height of your child.
The impact shield is the main point of this seat, which has come top in safety tests, however, I was a little unsure before the seat arrived as to how my 16 month old daughter would cope with this. If I'm completely honest she was scared of it at first. She is used to car seats with the traditional 5-point safety harness, so this was something new for her. We took it out of the car and put it on the floor in the house for her to get in herself, which she did almost straight away. I would probably say that a younger child would find it easier to get used to this type of seat, but perseverance does pay off.
Another plus point of this seat is that it is easy to use if, say you had been away from home and your child is ready for bed in a sleeping bag, you don't need to use a special travel one as there is no harness to worry about and the impact shield just fits over the top and the child can then just be transferred straight to bed when you get home.
The seat cover is washable, but we haven't needed to test that bit yet!
Overall I would say that this is a very luxurious, top of the range car seat with a good safety record. I do think that it is value for money and would recommend it to anyone. We have had lots of positive comments on the seat as this is still quite an unusual style of car seat and stands out, especially in the Raspberry!

"King of the Road "
We fell in love with this car seat as soon as it was out of the box, the quality is absolutely first class. We have the Raspberry colour and the upholstery is very luxurious which makes for a very comfortable ride.
The car seat is very simple to move from car to car, with no fiddly straps to worry about, you literally just sit it on your seat and away you go. Depending on the size of the child in the seat you can adjust the seat cushion height which is very easy to do, there are clear instructions in the manual for this but you can easily tell anyway with how your child is sitting in it. Once your child is sat in you slide the impact shield into place and secure with your normal seat belt. I was a little worried that my 1 year old would wriggle out before I had chance to put the impact shield in place but have had no problems so far.
The new found freedom with being able to move her upper body has been a huge hit with my 1 year old daughter, she is much happier in this car seat than the one we were previously using. The head support on this car seat is fantastic and holds your childs head very securely when they are sleeping, she looks very comfortable in it.
This has to be the easiest car seat to clean ever! We have already washed ours, you simply unfasten the cover from the seat and put it on a 30 degree wash - easy!
Both my 1 and 2 year olds use this car seat and it is very easy to adjust the seat height cushion to accommodate different sized children. The only downside I have found with this seat is the fact that you cant recline it when the child is sitting in it, we have not found this to be a huge problem though.
Overall I would highly recommend this car seat to anybody who is looking for a safer, more luxurious car seat. I think it is excellent value for money and has drawn lots of very positive comments from my friends .
