"Disappointing"
I was so excited to get this, as I love make up and using it. However I was quickly disappointed by the content. Some of the pictures didn't even look like the make up had been applied by a professional. For me, I knew most of the tips (they are quite basic and things most know) and I felt that the author spoke a lot about herself and her opinion. I have several make up books that are better and inspire me more. It might be a nice gift for a young girl who is just beginning to use make up and to teach her about skin care, but I certainly wouldn't pay £14.99 for this book!

"Does exactly what its title says!"
This book does excactly what its title says and shows you how to look pretty not plastered. Its shows you how to acheive a pretty and fkawkess look, but stay real and look natural. It has several different catergories, such has how to achieve simple smudged eyes and how to apply lipstick. Everything is wrote in a step by step instruction, and has photographs illustariting how its done and how it should look.
Its also very imformative, for example it goves a list of day to day makup products and lets you know their average life. Other things in the book include how to assess your skin tone and how to keep skin looking at its best.
The book itself is a nice size, its not packed full of writing and has plenty of illustartions showing you how to do the makeup tips.
The book is priced at £14.99, which initially does seem expensive but its packed full of tips, information and new ideas. It is ideal for a present, especially if somebody is interested in makeuop and beauty. There is also a section dedicated to prom makeup so would also be ideal for a teenager.
Personally I love this book, and will definitley be referring to it!

"Great for reference"
This isn't something I'd normally read but it is great for reference. If I'm after a specific look or just to try something new it has the information I need. It is quite comprehensive in it's content and has lovely pictures. Although they look very air brushed rather than natural which is a shame.

"Make-up explained in one simple book"
Although I wear make-up, I have never really looked at how or why I apply the products I use. I suppose I'm stuck in a bit of a make-up rut, applying the same face everyday for every occasion. This book by professional make-up artist Emily Rose explains simply how to look after your skin with information about what skin care products and make-up are kind to your skin. There are good ideas on how to change your make-up to achieve a variety of different looks from party girl to a 1950's classic. I have made some simple changes to my skin care regime and I already I feel my skin has improved. Being a busy mum I don't have a lot of time for reading, but this book is broken down into easy to read chapters, perfect for a quick read whilst feeding. Also it's a great read for any teenage daughters wanting to experiment with make-up and learn about skin care. Worth the £14.99 price.

"great book"
This is a fantastic book but not sure if it's worth 14.99 though. It has great tips on how to care for your skin and how to put makeup on properly if you have never been shown before. I'll be able to pass on some handy tips to other ppl - all in all a great book.
