I am currently on maternity leave with my first baby who is now just over 7 months old. Like all first time mothers I went mad buying for my baby, from the minute I found out I was pregnant to now I have been buying and buying. I could've used this book a long time ago and I'm positive that I would've saved a lot of money. From the moment I started reading it I felt very comfortable with the author, like I knew her and I couldn't wait to read all the hints and tips she had for me. The book was well laid out into different sections, and although my daughter is over 7 months old the sections relating to a baby of earlier months still applied and were very interesting to read. Reading the book came at a very good time as I will be returning to work in April after a year off, but after reading the book I am planning to return part-time as the author has provided ways to save money, make money and in general look after the pennies in order to afford more time off to look after my baby. I thought the book came in at a good price point as the advice offered is really priceless and a lot of the things mentioned you wouldn't even think of. It is good to read through but you can also return to the different sections depending on what information you need. I found the book a great and easy read and would certainly recommend it through all stages of preparing for and having children. Invaluable as a reference point and well laid out throughout, definately recommended.

The book is split into sections that are very clear and makes it easy to find what you are looking for. It is full of great tips on how to save money, although I will be going back to work there are some great ones that I will be using. It is quite pricey at £7.99 but I think if you are going to use the tips then you can save this and much more. Overall I found it to be an interesting read and I am looking forward to putting the tips into practice. Some of it is things that I would never even consider but they are great ideas to try.
