"great value read"

When i first seen the cover of this book i thought it wouldn't be very interesting to read as it was for teenagers i do read quite often so i thought it might be exciting as it was to do with mermaids well i thought it was great considering it was about a mermaid and she finds this boy who she actually falls in love with it was interesting to see their had a connection with each other which i found that was very romantic and it was heartwarming to read and i must say i enjoyed it i read all of the book which i was only going to read half of the book i do have a teenage daughter which im sure she might of enjoyed reading it as much as i did.

"ENJOYABLE READ."

My 14 year old daughter reviewed this and she said "I really enjoyed reading this story and found it just right for my age group.A lovely story that kept me interested and wanting to know what happens at the end"
I think £6.99 is a little expensive for a paperback of this size.

"good for teenage girls "

"Lily Sanderson has a secret, and it’s not that she has a huge crush on gorgeous swimming god Brody Bennett, who makes her heart beat flipper-fast. Unrequited love is hard enough when you’re a normal teenage girl, but when you’re half human, half mermaid like Lily, there’s no such thing as a simple crush.

Lily’s mermaid identity is a secret that can’t get out, since she’s not just any mermaid – she’s a Thalassinian princess. When Lily found out three years ago that her mother was actually a human, she finally realized why she didn’t feel quite at home in Thalassinia, and she’s been living on land and going to Seaview high school ever since, hoping to find where she truly belongs. Sure, land has its problems – like her obnoxious, biker boy neighbor Quince Fletcher – but it has that one major perk – Brody. The problem is, mermaids aren’t really the casual dating type – when they “bond,” it’s for life.

When Lily’s attempt to win Brody’s love leads to a tsunami-sized case of mistaken identity, she is in for a tidal wave of relationship drama, and she finds out, quick as a tailfin flick, that happily-ever-after never sails quite as smoothly as you planned." I must admit when I started reading and it mentioned about 'transfiguring', scales, and fins etc I began to roll my eyes. obviously I had to keep reading and found that the story is one that is well thought out and a really lovely love story. I did find all of the sea references were a little over bearing, they were very clever, but some of them I had know clue what the writer was refering to; but even with this I enjoyed the story. Although trying to set a hate campaign against Quince I actually found i liked his character over Brody, maybe this is because of my age and I know the popular kids are never really nice.
All in all a very well written easy to follow love story but unless you like fantasy love stories with highscool mermaids I would leave this for the teenagers.

"lovely story"

Forgive My Fins is a lovely story about a young mermaid called Lily who has fantasised over Brody for 3 years when all the time her neighbour Quince has been the guy for her, the story tells all Lily's heartbreaks learning about love, life and eventually she finds her happy ending. This book is suitable for preteens and older children, the price £6.99 is very reasonable well worth an escape to the ocean. I shall be passing the book over to my 13yr old daughter so she can too enjoy this magical story.
