"Great value, has everything!!"

Visited Flamingoland recently just prior to the kids breaking up at the end of term and was very disappointed to see the coach park FULL of coaches and was quite worried but needn't have been.

The park also operates a Q buster system for £5 they register your mobile phone and you can then buy credits to Q jump on the 7 biggest rides (and they are BIG!!) we didn't use it but I saw people who did so I suspect it works well enough and may be worth considering.

The normal entrance is £23 for both adults and children over 3 (3 and under get in free). If you hunt about you can usually find a voucher for a few £ off each person, try tourist info offices etc. You can also order tickets using your Tesco deals.

On entering the park it opens up into a nice big open plan plaza area with a pub for adults only and various other eating and drinking places too.

The place was really really busy with dozens of end of term school trips and I thought we were wasting our time but I couldn't have been more wrong....

There is loads to do from toddlers (our youngest was 11 months) up to adults. They have a colour grading system to tell you what height you need to be to get on a ride so you can quickly spot the ones you can head for and many of them the height limit is ignored for little ones when accompanied by an adult!

As well as the rides there is a zoo as well with lots of different types of animals as well as a small farm style area with a fair few little animals like pygmy horses, guinea pigs and rabbits.

The rides are well placed and spaced out so that the people are well spaced out throughout the park and even though the place was really busy it didn't feel it and the zoo was the quietest area and had a number of rides for the little ones to go on.

Many of the rides for the younger rider 2-4 we never had to queue for we got straight on and the ones we did queue for the queue was basically the length of time for the current ride to finish and get the next lot on.

This was the first visit to a theme park since our eldest was born who has just turned 3 and we didn't really know what to expect but to be honest it was the best day out we've had in AGES.

Williams favourite ride was the "dragon rollercoaster" which we had to go on with him and was a really good ride just the right level for a 3 year old (there were a lot of older ones on it too).

There is a really nice indoor softplay area if the weather turns on you or you just want to put your feet up for awhile whilst the kids work some energy off.

Also the Splish Splosh area is brilliant take your swimwear as you'll get DRENCHED. They have a ride where you can fire water pistols at the riders and they can fire back at you. Next to this they have a wet play area with water canons and water jets which come out of the floor at you. There are some super drying machines to get yourself dried off quickly but these are coin operated so take a towel.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough especially if your kids are 3 or under as you won't pay for them and there is LOADS for them to do. There are toilets and changing facilities everywhere as well.

The food whilst not majorly cheap was not expensive, fish and chips was about £5 a foot long sausage in a baguette was £2.95 that kind of thing.

The opening times vary it was slated to close at 6pm when we were there but the rides were still accepting people onto them at nearly 7pm and there was almost no queue at this time either.

Finally Flamingoland has it's own resort next door if you go at the right time you can get something that sleeps 6 people for about £500 for a week this INCLUDES unlimited access to the park so it's phenomenal value and also includes entertainment etc as well.
