"A great idea."
I was quite interested when I first read about the Firefly toothbrush and thought that it could well add a new dimension to what is a relatively uninspiring task. The Firefly lights up and emits a small neon pulse at one second intervals for a minute, the idea being that you brush your bottom teeth for the duration of one set of pulses and then do the same for the upper. Tom was pretty excited when he first saw the toothbrush and it has helped to put some sort of time limit on the duration of cleaning. Even though he is willing to clean his teeth he would always try to wriggle away quite soon and this sets a benchmark that he has to fulfil, thereby making my seemingly arbitrary rules less so. He quickly got the idea that as long as the toothbrush was flashing he should still be brushing and has since tried to adopt such stringent rules to his younger brother! For compliant kids it helps develop a sense of the time needed for this important task and with kids who are more difficult I would imagine that it could well get them attracted to the idea as you could easily add a competitive element to using the toothbrush. Overall, a great idea.

"Nice idea"
When I got this I thought it was great. It was a yellow one and it had a nice red flashing light. I don't know if is the age of my son but he didn't like brushing his teeth at all so I had a hard time anyway. I must say that after a few times of trying sometimes with the light flashing sometimes without he is more used to it now and he actually asks for it. It might have something to do with the singing that goes along with it thought! (nice tip for everyone). Maybe you should supply one with light and music! Good product though! The size is perfect even for a little mouth (my son) and a bigger hand (mine). I did have a little trouble sometimes turning the light on.

"time management"
Althought this is a great looking toothbrush i found it hard to switch on my five year old also found it hard to switch on.
once you got the light flashing he was distracted by the light rather than brushing his teeth

"i bought another one too :)"
this toothbrush is great !!!! we have a nice bright yellow one which was an instant hit.
the brush itself is a good size for both me and my daughter to use, she is a toothbrush dodger as its boring and she has to stop what she is doing to brush her teeth so i usually end up pinning her down and doing it for her, the bright flashing light means that she has something to occupy her while i am doing the brushing, i tell her to keep watching and let me know when it stops, we do the top teeth for the 1st minute and the bottom teeth for the 2nd minute then she has a minute of brushing them herself too, so she is getting extra toothbrushing time in without realising lol.
downside as others have said is the on off mechanism is a bit tricky and my daughter cant do it :( so one point dropped for that reason
however ... i was that impressed that i have bought her another one !!!, a hello kitty style one and it has a push button to turn it on , which is MUCH MUCH easier to use, and of course it has hello kitty on the handle too which is just the bees knees as far as we are concerned.
i have already told all my friends about the firefly and several of them are now converted too :)

"Great idea"
I have been using another flashing toothbrush like this for my daughter as she does get very bored when brushing her teeth and needs any encouragement she can get to make the whole process more fun so I think this is a great idea !. I thought that this tooth brush was a good size with a nice chunky handle for little hands. The colours are nice and bright and the price does represent good value for money, mind you I think anything that will encourage children to brush thoroughly is well worth the money.
I would highly recommend the Firefly Toothbrush to see your little ones face light up!!

"Great idea!!"
My 4 year old daughter was very pleased when this came through the door. She has loved using it!!! The on/ off button is a little tricky for her to use but apart from that, great product for kids.
The handle is a good size for little hands and I would say it is great value for money.
The toothbrush is an excellent product for encouraging teeth brushing and allows you as a parent to gage how long they are brushing for.

"Brilliant idea"
I am very impressed with this product - I have a 3 year old son and he absolutely loves this toothbrush; so much in fact that he is becoming obsessed with brushing his teeth any chance he gets. The toothbrush is just the right size for him to hold, and he is keen to brush his teeth for the full minute until the flashing stops (whereas he is usually bored after about 20 seconds). The only bad point I have is that it took me a few goes to get the hang of turning it on; after pushing the end and then trying to squeeze it I finally worked out that you have to bend the end to get it to start - maybe the packaging should explain this a little more clearly!
All in all a great product and I will definatley be buying another when this one runs out of battery!

"nice idea"
My daughter (5) was really excited about the prospect of a flashing toothbrush. The brush itself is the perfect size, and is a good shape for small hands. The flash is really bright, however the actual switching it on and off was virtually impossible for my daughter. There's no on/off button, or direction on where to press, you just have to keep pressing around the bottom end of the brush until you hit the right spot. Easy enough for me, but she couldnt do it - frustrating for her, and meant that I had to keep coming into the bathroom to press it for her, so frustrating for me too. As the title says, it's a nice idea, but i think there are probably similar options out there that are maybe easier to use for those children who already independently brush their teeth.

"great product "
wasnt sure what this going to be like when we used it for the first time at night it was very bright my son was excited he like the colours it was very easy to use just squeeze the bottom which it then flashes for a minute then you brush one side till the light stops flashing and do it for another minute on the other side
i think that its very useful as you know how long you have to brush each side :) my son really looks forward to brushing his teeth it makes it fun and great value for money !!
