"England cake"

I finally tested this today having the ideal opportunity at my nephews baptism and 9 children there.
Although they all enjoyed it 4 of them ate it slowly and in stages as they found it very sweet.

I would suggest this would be an ideal cake for when you have a larger number of children and therefore cut it smaller.

Very well made, and a great design.

"Does the job!"

The England cake was very well presented and I'm sure any football fan would be pleased to have as a birthday cake! Would also be great for any World Cup parties!!! Overall the taste was good, Iw ould say just a little bit dry as the icing didn't really stick to the sponge! But I would definitely buy if my little boy wanted a football cake!! We got a good 24 little square portions froms it too.

"ideal for football fans"

A cake for football fans which we unfortunatley are not!
Having said that I thought the printing on this cake was very good and my boys loved the stickers even though they didnt have a clue who the players were.

I did find the sponge to be a bit dry but the ammount of jam and buttercream filling almost compensated for it.

A nice cake for football mad boys

"ideal for kids parties"

Indeed this would be a great cake for birthdays/celebrations during the world cup period, but i couldnt see myself buying it any other time during the year, so relatively short selling time,

The cake decoration itself is good, with the key players shown, although some of them wont actually be playing in the world cup! I think the stickers on the cake band would be a bit disappointing as i only recognised two of the players, and they were repeated at least twice, so not much variety,

i found the cake to be a little dry and the buttercream tasted a little artificial, the fondant icing was not stuck to the cake with traditional apricot jam, and could be lifted off in one piece. it tasted the same as any other cake brought from a supermarket, needing to last a shelf life!

My children however loved it, and it came at a perfect time, as it was my sons birthday and we cut it up for party bags, i think if you cut this in the normal way you wouldnt get the 14 portions they say you should,

my only other gripe was the boast of "less packaging" it didnt seem to have any less packaging than other celebration cakes available

"Good....."

When I received the cake, I immediately thought how popular it will be, what with the World Cup fast approaching, with all the famous England football faces on the front - along with England stickers.
As for the taste of it, it was nice, but I have to say that it is no different from other shop bought birthday cakes I have had previously. That said, my son certainly enjoyed it! Plus, the good thing was that it had a sell by date which was far off - compared to some shop bought cakes that only last a couple of days.

Overall, a nice little birthday cake.

"England Cake "

This cake was brilliant value for money, would reccomend to anyone for a boys birthday. Long lasting date!!

Very eye catching for a child, well known football players with stickers for the children to keep. The cake went down a treat with the children and their friends and overall is an impressive cake
