"Fun toy"
My son was very excited when we got this out of the box and once I had worked out how to draw with it he thought it was fun to watch. Whilst I liked the idea, I thought that it took too long to draw the pictures, especially the ones with the dotted lines, which took a good 10 minutes to draw. There was a good selection of pictures to choose from, however as all the designs are on the instructions if you lost these it would be pot luck which picture was selected! I found you had to make sure the penguin started off exactly in the centre of the paper otherwise the picture didn't fit the paper properly and therefore my son was unable to play with this on his own as he didn't start the penguin in the right place. My son loved watching the penguin but wasn't interested at all in colouring in the pictures.
Personally I would have preferred a few more felt tips, as the penguin only came with 3 and more choice of colours would perhaps have encouraged him to colour in the pictures.

"Looks Good"
My Son loved the look of this as soon as we got it. We took a while to test as I kept forgetting to put the batteries in. Then it took a while to fathom out which button on which setting was needed to do which drawing. Nightmare if you lose the instructions as you wont know what each setting is for.
Some of the pictures took so long to draw and then we had extra lines put in that ruined the picture. Also, one of our pens got stuck in the penguin and took us ages to get out again.
My Son liked watching it but got bored of waiting for it to finish drawing the picture. I am disappointed with this product as it looked such good fun and sounds great with everything it can do. We also have Doodle Duog by Crayola and I think this is much better fun and value for money instead of this Doodle Penguin. Sorry!

"He loved it!"
When I first saw this I was a bit worried my son would think it was a bit 'babyish', how wrong was I, he loved it. First watching the penguin draw and then being able to colour them was enjoyable (for me too!). I am sure that it will pass many a rainy day over the winter. It may even persuade a child not so keen on colouring in and drawing to do so! Very good product.
