"One of the best things I've bought"

This is a little bit pricey I agree but the Close Baby carrier is one of the best things we bought. My best friend had one with her baby and I remembered it for being so striking looking and then when I was pregnant and she told me all about it we decided to buy one too.

I loved it from the minute we used it when my daughter was two days old and I still love it today. She is now 16 months old and we still use it lots! It will take a baby up to 32lb which my daughter is nowhere near so although we use it less often now she is older as she is less wanting to be carried and more wanting to walk, we will and can use it when she wants. I never used the baby cradle postition as I never felt totally comfortable with that but it was supportive enough for me to feel comfortable with her upright and facing in from two days old. Now she faces outwards almost every time we use it which she loves but if she's tired then I face her to me and when she falls asleep you simply pull some of the material over one side of her head and she's totally supported.

It is very easy to use once you know how and if you take the time to watch the video then you'll have no problems. Sometimes the straps get a bit twisted but it's very easy to re thread. The item washes well and doesn't look tired or old after a few washes which is great. I had a couple of problems with my sling, we lost the wrap part and Close sent me out a new one for 10 which was great and then after that I had a small problem with mine which I think was just a fault in the material and after discussing the problem with me they sent me out a new sling so I have absolutely no problem in recommending this to anyone.

Some people seem to think a sturdy sling is easier but having had both I really can't see the question when choosing between them. It's not very manly and my husband refuses point blank to wear it which is why we had a more sturdy Baby Bjorn one but he has admitted that the Close carrier is far more comfortable!

"So comfortable"

I LOVE this sling. I bought it after seeing my friend use hers with her newborn.
I always swore I wouldn't be one of those mums shoving my pram around the shops on a Saturday - this sling helps me stick to that vow! My little boy is safe and secure all tucked up against me. You wouldn't expect all this jersey fabric to feel so sturdy but once you've got your little one in it correctly you know they're not going anywhere!
My little boy is just starting to get a bit big for carrying across me in the newborn position now so my next job is to master carrying him in a more upright position - tho I'm not sure his head control is strong enough to leave him like that for too long - I think he'd flop if he got tired.
I'd recommend this sling to anyone.
One word of warning - people do seem to look at you when you're weariong it but I think it's just curiousity - I was often asked "Is there really a baby in there?" which struck me as a rather supid comment! (Clearly I was lacking patience due to being tired and hormonal haha)

"nice to wear when they are small"

I bought my Close baby sling at the baby show a couple of years ago just before I was expecting my daughter. I liked the material and that it had so many different ways to carry a baby / toddler. for a newborn it really feels good to wear - not just comfortable but I felt happy that my baby was comfortable and safe. It's noce to have them all wrapped up and cosy when they are due in winter too like mine was. As time progressed (my daughter is nearly two) I used it in different positions and I was quite keen to get to the one when she was facing out. The other great advantage to it was that my husband could use it without having to fiddle with lots of buckles to adjust it to his size, you sling it on and tie it pretty much (ok - so you do need to figure out the different ways to tie it but once that is out the way it's quick!!) Once she was nearing 12 months I started looking for another sling, mainly because I wanted one I could wear on my hip and this doesn't have that - although you might be able to improvise one I guess. In some ways I wish I used it a bit more later on, but the metal rings on each shoulder tended to dig in when you didn't wear thick clothes underneath to pad - fine in winter, not so great come summer! I will use it again when the next one comes along though I'm sure.

"Great!"

I've been testing the carrier for about a month and a half now. My baby is now 19 weeks old, so is getting past the 'newborn' stage and is more sturdy.

At first the sling was a bit confusing to work out, however after watching the DVD it became clearer, and the more I used it the easier it got.

When I first had the sling I was amazed at how secure she felt expecially when she was so small. I was able to take my other daughter to the park, walk round tesco while pushing the trolley and managing a manic 6 year old and generally go most things with the carrier.  I was also able to breastfeed her in the sling very securely while doing the dishes hoovering etc...not ideal but when you're busy needs must! But the sling allowed this with the ease.

Now she's slightly bigger she likes to look around more, so I have managed it so she is facing outwards and still feels just as snug.  The carrier is called the Close baby carrier and it really does keep your baby snug and close to you.

Wonderful!

"I love this carrier"

I've been testing the cream carrier for almost a week now. When it arrived I took it out of the pouch it resembled a pile of bandages.
It looked very complicated to use at first, I watched the DVD that came with the carrier and read the manual, then watched the DVD again just to be sure.
The carrier looks more complicated than it actually is. I found it very easy to use.
It is also very comfortable and the fabric is very soft, people ask if it hurts your back to carry a baby for a long time in it. I've not had any pain at all. You need to make sure baby is high up and not loose in the carrier.

I've also noticed that people seem to react in a very positive way when they see me wearing Freya, I have been stopped so many times over the last week by people commenting about the carrier. Many older people have said they wished they had something like it when they had had their children.
People seem to smile more too when they see us.

Freya loves being held. I had been finding it hard doing the school runs, I do 3 a day at the moment. We are a large family, we have 5 children aged 12, 9, 4, 3 and Freya who is almost 2 months old. I have 4 of the children with me for 2 of the school runs.
This carrier has made life so much easier, I can now make a coffee when I come home from taking the boys to school. I can play with my 3 year old daughter and help her with using the toilet, all with Freya being in the carrier. I now feel more "available" to the rest of the family
Freya loves being in the carrier, she used to cry all the time when we would be waiting at the school. She is now a lot more happier and so am I. I really enjoy wearing her.
One of the most important things for me with regards to this carrier is that you can breastfeed in it.
I will be using this carrier a lot.

I will write another review when Freya is 4 or 5 months old.
