Let Honey Tantalise Your Taste Buds This Summer!

Before you read any further, I just want to say that these recipes were sent to me on March 22 on a cold, wet, not-quite-Spring day . I was a bit incredulous at the opening paragraph but if you can get beyond all that PR stuff, the recipes are actually rather yummy!!

so....here we go....and I quote..........

"Just when we thought that the dark winter weather was here to stay, the sun has miraculously reappeared from its hiding place to enable us to bring our BBQs back to life! Gone are the days of ducking in and out of the rain, fully dressed in a winter wardrobe…now its time to pull out your flip flops and t-shirts and get cooking out there in the sunshine! However, planning a BBQ is never as easy as it sounds! It’s all very well inviting a handful of friends over and throwing several hunks of meat on to sizzle, but then there’s the dilemma of what other delicacies you can rustle up alongside it!"

Jazz Up Your BBQ With Some Honeyed Vegetable Kebabs!

Marinade

Ingredients:
30ml (2 tbspns) Olive Oil
1 red pepper
Salt & Finely Ground Black Pepper
1 yellow pepper
30ml (2 tbspns) Manuka Honey
2 courgettes - thickly sliced
1 Garlic Clove peeled and crushed
12 small new potatoes boiled & cooled
Juice of 1 lemon & finely grated zest
1 red onion into layers
15 ml (1 tbspn) Whole Grain Mustard

Method:
Whisk the marinade ingredients together in the mixing bowl. Prepare the vegetables by cutting them up into squares or cubes and add to the marinade. Toss the vegetables to coat and then thread them onto the skewers. Place on BBQ and cook!

Add Some ‘Zing’ To A Plain Fruit Salad With A Honey & Lime Dressing

Ingredients:
˝ cup pure Spirits Bay Manuka Honey
˝ cup Lime Juice
A pinch of Nutmeg or Cinnamon
4 cups sliced fruit (a combination of berries, apples, melon, etc.)

Directions:
Using a blender or food processor, combine the Manuka Honey, lime juice and seasoning and blend until smooth. In a medium bowl, toss the sliced fruit with dressing and chill until ready to serve.



Dress Your Summer Salad With A Honey & Mustard Vinaigrette

Ingredients:
1 small to medium Clove Garlic
2 tbsp Cider Vinegar
1 tsp Whole Grain Dijon Mustard
2 tsp Spirits Bay Manuka Honey
2 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste

Mince up the garlic as finely as possible. Mix up all the ingredients in a bowl or a jar with a tightly-fitted cap. Shake or whisk to combine, then taste, adjusting seasonings as necessary.



There you go, not so bad after all, was it! It did take about a week to remove the 2000 product references included in the press release, but we feel it was worth it to bring you the tasty treats.
