"The new cee’d – the all European car from Kia"
To give drivers the chance to understand what the fuss is about, Kia has created a fantastic opportunity to try the car out over a long weekend. Stephen Kitson, Communications Director at Kia Motors UK explains, “We are giving everyone the chance to whisk themselves off for a three day test drive. We’re so confident about the car that once you really experience the cee’d you won’t want to give it back”. So if you’ve been looking to get away from it all for a few days now you have the perfect excuse. Pack your bags, grab a map and hit the road!
To add some oomph to your driving pleasure, Kia has partnered with top notch brand Siemens to create the integral stereo and with sound being delivered courtesy of the Blaupunkt speakers you are sure to make the right impression when pumping out your favourite driving tunes.
Despite fierce competition from the likes of the Golf, Focus and Astra, the cee’d offers something these other cars simply cannot give you: every Kia cee’d benefits from a seven-year / 100,000 kilometre new car warranty. It’s the ‘best’ new vehicle guarantee ever offered, by any manufacturer, on cars marketed in the UK and Europe.
The cee’d also dazzles from the inside out with a plush interior that makes the perfect space for you whether going solo or taking your friends on a special trip. With quality this high you may expect the price tag to match, but even with all these bonuses the cee’d will continue to offer the outstanding value for money for which Kia is renowned.
Prices from £10,995 to £14,245.

thebabywebsite have a 'bit of a thing' about apostrophes and so asked Kia about the unusual name......cee'd
Here, in its entirety, is the mail that came back....
"Well, the name......
There have been a few raised eyebrows over our decision to call our new European family hatchback 'cee’d', not least because of that apostrophe in the middle of the name. But we think it makes sense on many levels - let us explain.
We wanted to emphasise that cee’d isn't just a Korean car adapted for Europe, but a European car that just happens to come from a Korean manufacturer.
What better way, then, than to borrow the initials of the European Economic Community, or CEE as it is known in many member countries? And just to make sure everyone gets the message that this is a car designed as well as built in Europe, we added 'ED', for European Design.
The trouble is, when you put the two together you're left with ceeed, which it a bit strange, so we dropped the final 'e' and inserted an apostrophe.
That leaves us with the altogether more sensible cee’d – all in lower case - rather fashionable, we think. And when spoken, it comes out as seed, an appropriate name for a car which represents a new start for Kia in Europe, and – we are confident – the beginnings of major growth in what is now our major export market.
Hope that helps!!"

Look out later this month for a review of the cee'd - in the meantime Read what thebabywebsite thought about the Kia Carens
