Packing For A Holiday With Baby
Certain items are essential to pack for a holiday with a baby.....

Many of the items below would be on any travel packing list, but some items are particularly important when travelling with your baby:

Camera - Babies grow up so fast. You don't want to miss those special holiday moments so make sure you always have your camera with you. Make sure that you also have a high capacity memory card for your digital camera or if you've got the old-style camera then plenty of film!

Plastic bags - Wherever you go with your little one there’ll be some kind of mess, so try to always have a supply of plastic bags to put dirty clothes, used wet wipes, dirty bibs etc in.

A spare top for yourself - The chances of you making the complete journey without spilling something on yourself are very slim so always have a spare top to hand for yourself!

Muslin Cloths - These can easy to wash and dry and can be a real life-saver.

A plug-in nightlight - Once on holiday, the unfamiliar environment can make your baby more difficult to settle at bedtime. A low power nightlight left on overnight can be reassuring for baby.

Baby toiletries - Many hotels provide toiletries for you in the rooms, but most of them are not at all suitable for a baby’s skin, so make sure you take a face/body/hair-washthat you know is good for your baby.

Pushchair/Stroller - Think lightweight stroller! The last thing you need when travelling is to be carting around a heavy pushchair. There are many cheap and cheerful, lightweight strollers around, suitable for babies from newborn up. Remember though to pack a parasol too that can be attached to it to protect your baby from the sun.

Sun Cream - Pack a very high SPF suncream! Most supermarkets and pharmacies now sell sun creams specifically for young children that change colour as you apply them to ensure you don’t miss any areas when applying.

Hats A really good sun hat is essential for baby. A hat not only protects your baby’s head, but it will also help keep baby cool and keep the sun out of his eyes.

Toys Always pack a few of your baby’s favourite toys and his comforter. Old, familiar toys can entertain, reassure and comfort your little one in an unfamiliar environment.
