i was a twin but my brother was stillborn 
in those days my mum didnt even know she was having twins, she fell off a wall at 6mths and had a major bleed - the docs thought all was ok as they still heard my heartbeat - turns out the fall had killed my brother. funnily i dont feel complete - i think i miss my twin... I really wanted twins when i was pregnant!! isnt it meant to skip a generation though? |

awww Vicky, that really sad. xxx There are not twins in my family! BUT my mum and Grandma both had bleeding and in those days they were given injections to stop mc, when my sis and aunty were born, they were both told the placenta's were 'grainy' meaning it was highly likely a twin hadn't survived, so I think I was just the first to actually carry twins to full term. |

I was a twin too, my Mum miscarried my twin. I only found out I was a twin about 5/6 years ago. I always thought my Mum had a miscarriage between having my sister and having me, not during a pregnancy. I know what you mean Vicky about not feeling complete. |

thats lucky for you pennie!! I was really sad at all my scans when there was only one baby there - although of course i was pleased all were ok. i suppose i will have to wait to see if kira has twins - or even the boys partners - at least that way i wont get the sleepless nights

I know what you mean Vicky about not feeling complete. i found out when i was 16, funny i wasnt told before that - i think it was to do with my mum and dad having split early in my life - but he didnt know either!! 
he was a marine and away at the time i was born - he received a telegram saying 'you have a baby girl' and that was it - he knew nothing of what my mum was going through. I think she chose not to tell him as it was a boy she had lost - and he was desperate for a boy - she might have thought he would blame her? i dont know but its sad they couldnt talk about it |

im not a twin nor do i have twins in my family...well actually i dont know about my mums side as my mum was adopted as a baby so i have no idea about her side of the family, all my mum knows is that she was the youngest of 10

It was lost very early on though vicki - you may feel the loss but i'm not sure this baby will. My brother was with me for 6mths before he died, i think thats why i feel it - although i could be wrong.. |

How sad Vicky. I can't imagine the feeling, it must be so strong. I don't have twins in the family as far as I know but don't know my dad's side as he & my mom divorced when I was 2. |
