Hi,

I am expecting twins in September. I range from feeling excited to scared and then back again.

Any help / advice you can give I would appreciate.

Regards
Amanda

Where's CharliesTwins and BigMama when you need them eh?? I'm sure both of these mums could share their thoughts/experiences with you! And they're a good laugh too - so a bonus!! :)

You could also have a look here if you want...

Hope to see you around lots and please post a pic of your Bump in Baby Blogs. We love Bumps as you can see fro the Home Page Bump! I'm sure a Twins' Bump would be a possible contender for a Bump of the Month Award!

Thanks for your welcomes. I don't actually have a picture of the bump at the moment. Too scared to take it. I feel huge and am even contemplating changing my name to Jemima Puddleduck. I am actually only 16 weeks pregnant - apparently though, with twins you look about 4 weeks further on than you actually are! Scary. The midwife looked at me the other day and said "you are not very tall are you". I am 5'2"! So apparently I am going to have a very large bump that sticks out a lot at the front, whereas a taller person has more longitudinal space for the babies to grow. I reckon I will be the size of a house.

Hi Amanda. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I am a mum to 4 year old non-id girls.
It is a shock when you find out isn't it!
The excited, scared and back again feelings will be here for a while but you will get used to it! (To be honest, I still get them sometimes!!)
I can just tell you that having twins is not at all how you imagine it. It can be tough sometimes but the good times far out-weigh the bad.
Will these be your first babies?
I had it 'easy' because I already had 3 children so was confident with new babies and all that.
When I foud out I was having twins, I went ou a bought loads of twins books. Big mistake, they will tell you far to many horror stories about difficult pregnancies and possible problems.
The one book I would reccommend is Double Trouble. Twins and how to survive them. By Emma Mahony. It is honest, east to read and funny! You will need to keep your sense of humor!
Take a look at the thread here about the comments you will get so you are prepared. Count how many times you hear the words "Rather you than me!!"
I hope you have a good pregnancy.
Butterfly.X.

HI hun and Welcome :D

Im Charlotte and i have b/b non id twins Adam and Thomas who were 3 in Dec. I also have 2 other children Ryan 11 and Paige 14m so having twins cant be that bad if i went on to have another

Do you know if your twins are id or non id ?

Im sure your still coming to terms with the fact your having 2 babies, even now it still scares the life out of me when i think i have twins lol but its all good most of the time ( dont read my posts in stress    )

Twins are hard work and in the early days it can be exhusting so take every bit of help you can get so you can. Take it all in and remember what having newborn babies is like as it goes so fast.

Feel free to pm me or post on here and i will offer and help i can

take care Charlotte x

Hi,

Thanks for comments so far. At the moment, I only know that the babies are 80% non-id. However, when I told my new midwife this (I have had to be transferred from the county I am working in - to where I live - very confusing) this, she said it must have been because they could not tell at the 12 week scan how many placenta's there were ? But he could tell me that they were from 2 eggs! Roll on 20 week scan .... only 21 days until to go.

Every so often I think I have gotten over the shock but then ..... wham, I am all in shock again!

Regards
Amanda
