I would find it hard to knit a scarf. it's one of the skills that are dying.

Cant help sorry. It is my Aunt who knits for Ella - I too love knitted jumpers on wee ones.
Talking of which I need to hunt for more patterns for Aunt M to get knitting again, Ella is outgrowing the ones she has.
Have you tried looking in a charity shop? One of the ones near me, has a wee woman who hands in knitting daily, for them to sell for more funds.
xx

no one knits here - well mil does, but not very well! My mums friend gave Sarah some lovely had knitted cardis. When mum asked where she'd got them she said she'd picked them up at arts and crafts fayres, so might be worth checking out if there are any in your area and popping along. There is also loads of hand knitted stuff on ebay so might be worth taking a look there too.

Sorry can't be of any help. Only thing I cna knit is Dr Who scarves...you know, the really really really long ones all in one stitch lol
