While we were on holiday, Neil's boss phoned him. Well it looks like they are in consultation for redundancies AGAIN!
The last round wiped out over 400 employees in Scotland, to just about 20. (It is an American company - Cisco Systems for any geeks out there. One of the biggest companies in the world)
That last round was just about a year ago and here we go again :(
xx

Hope his job is safe hun, my mate in Australia's hubby used to work for them, they contracted him to the UK for 2 years, they moved over here and he was offered a permanent UK job, Evelyn missed Australia so he declined and they moved back. He changed jobs about 3 months after they got back due to redundancy talks.

Thanks ladies. Not going to find out till 4th Aug. That is deadline for people to take early package. After that they look to see how many more going before deciding who it is. Think Neil will be safe - as there are only 2 testers in his team now (he is one) Plus last night he said that his Boss' Boss has said they are loosing 30 or so from the tech M team ( a team of contractors in India that work for Neil. They have 48 at the moment, and with the new release product they really need 60+, but they are getting told the Tech M team will be reduced to 15!) I'm more worried that if that goes through, Neil is going to have to work some really stupid hours - not unknown to work from 8am till 12 midnight in the past with meetings.
Will keep you posted.
xx
