Again, sorry if it's been done before.. my OH and I can't decide what age gap is best. Yes Jack is only 3 months now but we need to plan!
I used to want a 4 year age gap but am changing my mind

I voted 1-2 years as this is what I have between my first and second, and between second and third. BUT, my 2 girls (1st and 3rd) have 3 years between them and they are very close. Then I have almost 5 years between third and fourth, and the 3 older children all get on really well with him.
Your age gap will work, no matter if it's one year or four years.

I went 2-3. There's 2 years 3 weeks between Elijah & Rheiya and 2 years 9 months between Rheiya & Lucas. Although there is 5 years 9 months between Lucas & Jaidyn!
They say 2-3 is the worst due to jealousy issues but I never had a problem, so that's pants in my eyes! Some kids are jealous, others aren't, no matter what the age gap is.
Our plan was to start ttc when Elijah turned 2, yeah like that happened!!! As you can see we start 9 months earlier than planned

I have voted more than 4 years as I am an older mom and find that the 6 years age gap between my two is invaluable at times. My eldest dotes on my youngest and can be very helpful when i'm very tired....which happens alot given that I work! On the down side though my eldest is now getting to a stage where she requires her own space sometimes, especially when she has friends round which of course doesn't go down well with my youngest and then world war 3 breaks out!!!!
I tend to agree with the previous comment though in that I think whatever age gap you have you will make it work....there are pros and cons with them all....I do think the age of the mother and personal circumstances play a part however as I know i certainly don't have half the energy I had when i was younger and the thought of trying to juggle more than one little one is scary!!!!!

I haven't voted purely because I don't think there is a 'best' age gap in general, but I think there is a 'best' age gap for each family & that may be different between each child they have too. It all depends on circumstances so much!

I have a 2.5yr age gap between my 1st & 2nd. This would have been an 18 month gap but I miscarried between & didn't feel like trying until a lot later. Then I have an 18 month gap between my 2nd & 3rd. Also this means a 4yr gap between my eldest & youngest. I think they are all nice gaps. I just wanted mine close together because I wante to get all the nappy stages etc out of the way at once then enjoy them all growing up together. I do think it's a very personal thing though & different gaps have their advantages & disadvantages :D

I said 2-3 years as that was our ideal. There is 2 years 11 months between me and my sis and we are very close. In fact off to a gig tonight without her - and seems like my arm is missing. We do everything together - even train at the gym
We intended waiting till Ella was 2 before starting to try again - it took us 15 months to conceive Ella, so were expecting a wait. Yeah that happened
There is 2 years exactly between Ella and the twins. I wont kid on - it is hard going. Especially as Ella hitting the terrible twos, trying to toilet train her and remove the dummy whilst dealing with 2 very colicky babies. But wouldn't change it now for the world. I hope they all grow up as close as Heather and I (and in fact all my friends who have younger / older sisters.)
xx
