If he's not showing any interest then my advice would be to wait. I have trained my 2 eldest sons now (the middle one in the last month) & I can honestly say it's so much easier when they are ready & willing!
I know you are pregnant & you want to get it over with before the baby is born but it's not that hard with a newborn hun! My eldest was 2.5 when my middle lad was born & I was thinking the same as you, but he wasn't having any of it! After struggling for a couple of weeks I decided to leave it a bit. I tried every 4 weeks to see if he was ready & a couple of months later he took to it like a duck to water!
It wasn't as hard as I imagined with a new baby, in fact, it's been a lot harder this time round with a 1 year old cos he's been crawling the floor & trying to get to the potty as soon as Lucas had filled it!
We've ended up with wee wee on the floor from lightning Zac more than once!
ha ha, bless him!
I agree though, you have to wait until they understand the concept, hence why I have the potty out for him to play with, i have decided to leave it a few months.
I had a good think about it last night, and realised that he doesnt understand the concept yet. He doesnt know what a "wee" is, far less that he has to get it in the potty. I have reasoned that he was only 2yrs old six weeks ago, its cold and horrible outside and he is wearing lots of clothes, so I have decided to wait until spring to try to see if he is more receptive then. At least then, he will be a bit older, he will possibly understand more, the weather will be warmer and he can run around in his pants, or easy pull -down joggers.
I just feel he doesnt get it yet, so gonna take a step back for a bit.
The tips are fantastic though, and you can easily adapt them to your child and their likes. I will definately be using them when the time comes. x
