Audrey My Younger sister got her swine flu vaccination on saturday, shes 13 weeks pregnant, she said that her arm felt a bit heavy a few after receiving it other than that she seems fine,

My midwife told me that it has the same side affects as the normal flu jab your daughter would have got last year!!

Hope that this helps you a bit sorry its not very informative xxx

i still think it would be better for her to get the vaccination and feel a bit achy afterwards, than have full blown swine flu - it's just a pity our whole family couldn't be vaccinated too.

some GP practises are offering it to other family memebers who are not in any risk group like your daughter

there is a fee of 20 quid per vaccination for it but its 20 quid well worth spent if you want the whole family vaccinated against it

enquire within your GP surgery hun & ask if there doing it

My eldest Ryan has had a letter to make an appointment for this.

I have decided he WONT be having it. Im my opinion i dont believe it has been tested enough, to me it seems it was rushed out.

Ryan has Cerebral palsy, it doesnt affect his immune system so i am happy he can fight it off himself if he were to get it.

My boys had swine flu (confirmed) and tbh as long as i kept them cool (baths, light clothing, medicine) then they coped quite well it was only when their temps got too high that they were sick.

I had my swine flu vaccine 2 weeks ago (because I am high risk & also coz I work in a doctors surgery). The only side effect I had was a tender arm, which is the same as I had when I got the standard flu vaccine.

HTH xx

I've been offered it and refused it. I refuse the normal flu jab every year as well. I work with kids who lets be honest their mums send them to schoo regardless of how ill they are, and have quite severe asthma. I found the flu jab actually made me worse and was really ill when I got it, plus dont believe swine flu jab has been tested enough. Know of a ot of people who have "swine flu" but have never been tested - showing signs of a heavy cold and just getting told they have swine flu regardless!
xx

This is a very topical discussion in my house at the moment!! I'm really undecided. I'm not sure what the policy in this area is as I am 12 weeks pregnant and they may not offer it to me until further in my pregnancy. It still however is a decision that potentially I am unsure on which way to go :(
