Stupid question I know, but have you been to your GP? That would be the best place to start as there is obviously something not quite right somewhere, could be something that is easily sorted.

18 months that's a very long time for a child to suffer like that.

If he's under a doctor either change the doctor or get a second opinion.

Your son could be intolerant to something.

If he was my son i would of took him to hospital asap, poor thing sounds like he's really suffering

yes he has been to all the g.ps at his surgery also changed surgerys and gone to all the g.ps at the new one. i have took him to the hospital at least 5 times for it and all they keep doing is fobbing me off with differant reasons, i went to new g.p today and they have given me some medicine that he has already tried, he also told me to come back in 2 week and if the medicine dosent work this time then he will refer me to a specialist, wich i am very happy to hear. this new g.p was really nice and actually took into account everything i had to say, where as others have just said he will grow out of it by 9 month then they said 2 month, so i went in there today rally fed up and knew i wasnt going to leave wih anymore excuses. so relieved that something is finally going to get done about it, thank-you x

Yes its very frustrating for me and him both, we actually have a quite good routine now. Ive learnt how to predict when he will be sick depending on how much he eats during the day and got quite good at getting him to the bathroom. But that means watching him sleep and that should be my time to relax with my Partner. Thank-you all for your support and i will keep updating you when i find something out. Im very determined to help him with this x

that is a long time to suffer, I cant believe you have not been referred before - my son had been referred twice in the same time frame for tummy problems - he is lactose intolerant - but had other allergies from approx 4mths.

I really hope you get this referral asap - it is your right! demand it if they try fobbing you off again!

Is your son growing and developing normally in other ways? does he also have diahorreah?

Really sorry to hear how ill your little boy has been. I'm glad he's on his way to getting sorted now. Like the other ladies said, that's a very long time to be suffering like that. Fingers crossed you will get some answers very soon xx
