We all like a freebie where possible, I know I do. I realise a majority of freebies are on a first come first served basis. I have had a few free products since finding out I was pregnant I wanted to share with others who might like freebies as I do.
I have done my own review page on my baby diary. I only thought recently I could start a page here for those who like freebies. I found a good website I have signed to called MagicFreebies and they have daily freebies although not nessecarily baby bits.
How do you like your Bounty Pack? I liked mine. I enjoyed having a good look through to see what I'd received. I loved the cardboard picture frames from Pamper Village something to put my Scan picture in. Sudacrem sample which I can't wait to use in October, 1xPampers New born Essential Pack which includes all the advertising info, Size 1 Pamperx1 and a pack of wetwipes (always handy to have emergency disposable Nappies available as my plan is to use Terry's). Avent 1xpair of breast pads, Sii Derm sample sachet of Stretch Mark Oil, Ovaltine sachet-my husband likes Ovaltine unfortunatly I'm not a fan so he was happy and the Bounty Pack Product guide which was helpful with giving some information on products you will require when your little one arrives. Over all as a start you off kit I thought it was great, the only down side is last year they included an NHS pregnancy book which for any first time Mum is full of the essential information. Unfortunatly last year I had a mis-carridge and have only recently pulled the book out, now it is one of those that I wish I'd pulled out earlier as it is so informative.
Most of the freebies I have received I was required to join the companies baby clubs. To start with I signed up to; Cow & Gate Baby Club, I received a Cow and Gate Cow. For my first freebie I was impressed the Cow was so cute, fabric really soft and appeard to be full with a beany filling. Loved it. A friend of mine couldn't leave the house with out making sure they had their's as their daughter loved it. Since then I have also received a DVD and Booklet from Cow & Gate "Prepare for your new life". An informative DVD for New Mums and Dads to watch, it is brief but to the point. Giving information on Making a Birth Plan, Hosipital Bag, Coping with Labour, Breast Feeding, Bathing Baby and Changing Baby-the only down side is I would have liked to have seen a little bit of information on cloth nappies but thats only as thats my choice rather than using disposables.
Aptamil Baby Club, For a freebie I was blown away. All I was expecting was the little Polar Bear, what I received was the Polar Bear...I can see it being washed alot because it is white (as a Polar Bear would be) but again nice fabric and a soft stuffing for baby to cuddle into. 3 Mama Tea Bags (Chamomile and Ginger, Rooibos and Elderflower, Chamomile and Spearmint) I like herbal teas and found all flavours very pleasant. The 2 chamomile ones appeared to help with my heartburn. The only dissappointment was the Rooibos over powered the Elderflower, all I could taste was the Rooibos and not even a hint of the elderflower which I love the taste of. Finally I had a little pregnancy book which for the size of it I found helpful and informative. It allowed me to go to my midwife and get information from her, which if I hadn't known about I still don't think I'd know. Also in the back of the booklet was a 50p off voucher towards Mama Teabags and a voucher for a free Graze Box.
If you like to snack Graze boxes are the way forwards, I used to get them but had to stop as although I enjoyed the contents of the boxes I would put them in the cupboard and forget about them. In the boxes you get 4 snacks all different anything from Flapjacks, Savoury Breads, Seeds, trail mixes, Olives just to name a few. They arrive in a handy box that fits through your post box. I liked them but wasn't good at eating them so a shame but a waste for me.
Asda Baby and Toddler Club; The actual website for the baby club is a bit plain for me but it does keep you informed of new offers for baby products and that is about it from what I can see. By signing into the baby club you will receive a a voucher to be printed off and claim your Huggies New Born Kit worth £5.47, mine contained 27 New Born 2-5lb nappies, a packet of Huggies Wipes and Huggies soft cotten sheets. Great little gift for any new Mum even if they have chosen to use washable nappies, as my Mum has sugggested "keep some spare disposibles just in case, for emergency purposes". I will suggest that you are connected to a printer before you sign in as I found the Voucher came up immediately, I then assumed I'd lost it as I was expecting an email I could print the voucher off later but this didn't happen. Asda were great at sorting me out and sent the voucher by post. Great Customer service.
Sainsbury Little Ones Club; The website is based around shopping at Sainsburys but it is informative with recipes for for pregnant Mums,Mums with New Borns, Weaning Babies and Toddlers. Also some information to help with parenting. I found it an intresting site. I had some issues, again, with their voucher I took the information when I received the voucher as; you do your shopping after 48 hours of joining and should recieve at the check out a voucher, you go and collect Huggies New Born Nappies and pick up you Mum and Baby Bundle worth £9.99. You do have to purchase the Huggies New Born Nappies. My voucher did not come through as I though it was but again great customer service and after speaking to someone on the telephone they sent me my voucher, after 48 hours I could go and purchase my 27 New Born Huggies Nappies. At first I thought this a bit of a cheek when Asda's is free, but to be fair when the product costs £9.99 I don't think you can complain. In my Bundle I received A Changing Mat, Wipes, Metanium Barrier Cream, Lansinoh Breast Pads, Persil sachet, Comfort Sample, Sanex Zero Shower Gel Sample and Kleenex Tissues. Another great gift for new Mums and again if you purchase a small bag of Huggies New Borns even if for a Mum who wants to use washable Nappies then they have some for emergency purposes.
Bepanthen; I applied on the Bepanthen website for a free sample of their product. Can't wait to compare Sudacrem and Bepanthen now in October. It can take up to 28 working days to arrive, as mine did. Quite an attractive website I thought and informative about their product.
Beaming Baby; For a small fee of 99p for P&P I received 2 Midi 11-18lb eco friendly disposible Nappies. As mentioned previously I do hope to use Terry's washable Nappies but am happy to have a selection of Disposable Nappies for emergencies. A great website for Organic and Natural Products. Various products from Nappies and Bathtime goods through to toys and clothes. You can also purchase Sample packs of wipes and bath care products but will need to pay full postage either £1.95 for standard delivery or £3.95 for express delivery.
Bebivita; Is a European baby food company that has now came to the UK, they offer a free baby weening spoon. It is nothing amazing but it is free and will come in very useful at a later date. I don't know if the colours are the same, mine was Blue with Bebivita printed into the handle. Its plastic. Although most companies allow 28 working days for products to arrive this did take a lot longer, I almost thought I wasn't going to receive the product. I can't wait to use the product but at the same time I don't want to rush my time away.
MultiMam; I am planning on breast feeding, all being well as I realise Breast feeding is sometimes not as easy as it may appear to be. I applied to MultiMam for their nipple balm. Once we get started there we can see how well it works. The balm has Direct Soothing effect on sore nipples, reduce swelling and prevent infection and contains the natural soothing agent Aloe.
Garnier; OK its not baby related but its a freebie. I received an email from Garnier for a 14 day trial on their Ultra Lift Cream. I found to start off, a few spots appeared then after the 14 days it didn't have much effect on the crows feet by the eyes. I couldn't see a change. The cream itself was smooth to put on and didn't feel greasy as some creams can. I did find the smell of the cream a bit strange to start but I got used to it after a few days.
Redbush; Through the website Magic Freebies I got a sample of Redbush tea. I received 3 types Redbush Origanal, Redbush Tea Citrus and Redbush Tea Chai. I love Redbush tea I find it settles my stomach if suffering with heartburn or indigestion, it is full of antioxidants and has no caffeine in. I usually treat my teabags like herbal ones and leave them in the cup and I have my tea black. The Citrus Tea was refreshing and a pleasant taste. You could smell and taste the Citrus, I have found with some Redbush teas the Redbush over powers the taste of the other flavour but on this occasion it was a perfect match. As said previously I love the taste of the Redbush Origanal, now to just taste the Chai....
Zinco Spray; This is apparently a soothing spray unfortunatly although I have applied for the product it hasn't arrived. I still hold hope it might as with the Bebivita Weening Spoon but I don't think I'll be holding my breath.
