Recently, in my local papers, they have featured a story of a man who is a registered childminder.
If you had to leave your child/ren with a childminder, would you consider a male childminder?
I personally wouldn't, although I'm sure he would give the children in his care good care, but a male childminder wouldn't appeal to me.

not sure I'd be confortable with it if it wasn't someone I knew but my dad looks after my boys on his own once a week and I could not have imagined how good he would have been at it - he has a real conection with the boys and its so sweet.

I wouldn't consider a female builder if I ever needed a bulider, but I certainly would consider a male childminder, should I ever need a childminder.

Its awful and sexist but no i wouldnt. Maybe in a nursery or playgroup setting but not in their home. I know they would still be disclosure checked, but its not something i would ever consider.

If their references were the best of the bunch then yes. You only have to watch the news to realise that women can be just as evil with kids, even in a nursery where you think they are perfectly safe, I wouldn't hesitate in a male childminder, if I needed one (although hubby might disagree )
One of the most popular childminder's in Strathaven was a bloke, he retired last year tho'. He still dresses up for Santa for our school tho' and pops in to see how all his 'mindings' are doing every now and again.

I think I'd have to say no. I know it's sexist & that, like Yvonne said, there are some evil women out there too, but I just wouldn't feel comfortable with it! Daft I know, but that's just the way I feel!!

I have seen him up the centre Yvonne and he is brilliant. He takes the kids for a scone and expects them all to clean their space up after them. I dont have an issue with it tbh - you get male teachers, support staff in school and nursery staff so why not childminder. Best person for the job, I would use a female builder if she was the best
xx

Ian's fab, he has more energy than me! He used to race the kids down the path to the nursery and then race them back to the car!!
