as you know thomas is after a snake for his birthday so on saturday we went to have a look i was paying a deposit off 1 and buying all the bits and bobs spending at least £150 anyway to cut a long story short were standing at the counter and i looked at michael he was crying i then saw he was covered in gloss paint hand face top and coat grrrr
i went and got debbies baby wipes out to try and get it off him the assistant went off and did something else was shocked they didnt apologise anyway i said i hope im getting some discount now the coats ruined in a laughing manner as didnt want to cause a stink and he went on defense mode and said it was painted 3 days agao and should have been dry errrmmmm well HELLO it obviously isnt anyway he offered to knock wait for it £3.50 off my bill i felt rather insulted by this as we all know gloss wont come out chris went in after finishing work and they offered to pay a dry cleaning bill for the coat but now on speaking to the dry cleaners its unlikely the paint will come out and as the coat is waterproof it needs to go away to be reproofed and treated which will take 2 weeks what am i suposed to do without a coat for him in the mean time
the coat isnt a designer one its from next i think it was about £35 so glad it wasnt thomas as his was £100
but im just angry that i still havent recieved an apology and they think this is acceptable

That's terrible - how could they not check the paint was dry before letting customers in?! I hope you can get them to pay for a new coat, he can't be without one for two weeks at this time of year

I hope you get something more than £3.50, what a cheek,they are asking for trouble if there is wet gloss and no sign!!

I would insist on them buying him a new coat, as it is their fault that his other one is ruined. I hope you get it sorted out.

I'd call them & tell them what the dry cleaner said and that you would like them to replace the coat. It's their fault if there was no sign up.

Is it an independant store or a national chain, if it's the latter then a phone call to head office is neaded. That is so not on

thanks ladies not getting anywere with them it either send it away to be cleaned for 2 weeks or put up and shut up
yvonne its only a little independent store
i have got my deposit back on all the stuff i was going to buy and gone else were as couldnt bring myself to buy from them
i will have to get a new coat and then send that one away to be clean if it doesnt come out then they can pay for the coat too
annoying but looks like im on a loser
