I was supposed to be doing a first aid exam for my dad today and mum was looking after the girls for me. About half 9 I had finally got all 3 dressed and went upstairs to get myself dressed. Suddenly the door goes, and there is a girl I went to school with holding my mum up.
The daftie had been changing from her normal specs to sunglasses, lost her footing and ended up in the road. 2 wee men helped her up and at that Donna passed [smilie=angel.gif] . She brought mum up to my house and I knew instantly her wrist was broken.
Aunt Margaret was phoned and as soon as she arrived we headed to A&E . Meanwhile I'm trying to phone Neil my sis and my dad ( who had his phone off as he was teaching)
Mum spent the morning saying her wrist was just strained - erm no it's not
So yes it is broken, I rushed over to do the exam for dad who was stressed out his box. Neil cancelled his meetings to come home as Aunt M had people coming over at 5pm for dinner.

So mum going to have a stookie on her arm while we on holiday - talk about a tan line
Back to fracture clinic tomorrow - argh am down a baby sitter for a while :( hehehe
In the meantime, does anyone have spare cotton wool we can use to wrap my mother up in?
xx

Don't have any spare cotton wool - just don't let her out of the door & she should be ok.

Seriously, hope she doesn't feel too sore & she can still enjoy her holiday & time with the kids, even if she can't help yet (I'm confident you will soon figure out a method to get her to help you Fi) xxxxx

Fracture clinic this morning and she needs a plate in her wrist. Operation scheduled for Monday am :(
She bit gutted herself that she missed her eyebrow wax this morning  but tried to hold Abbie this afternoon and couldn't so gutted about that too.
Cast to stay on for 3-5 weeks depends how quickly she heals (fingers crossed for 3 weeks as we go away in 4  )
Looks like will be chapping mums neighbours door to get wee Sara to help me feed a baby Tuesday and Wednesday nights from now on :thumleft:
That's it locking mum in - yeah that'll make her rest
Xx

Ruddy mothers!! At least your mother was sober! Mine broke her wrist when she was, shall we say a tad merry, on her work's Christmas night out a few years ago!!

I think Ella should personalise Granny's stookie! Hope she's a quick healer hun x
