Hey all long time not on here lol but just wanted to ask does anyone have any tips on getting your breastfed baby to take from a bottle? I use tommee tippee closer to nature bottles ,at the moment she just kind of plays with it in her mouth sometimes taking sucks i make a fuss if she does suck praising her. Is it just keep trying or is there a method? It's just so me and partner can go out sometimes plus i want to start learning to drive.
Would be great to hear experiences.
xx

i gave Jack a bottle by holding him close to my chest and he took it after a bit of refusal. He has been taking one at nights now for 3 weeks and he is 18 weeks old.

I was very lucky and Lewis always took a bottle really well. We used tommee tippee closer to nature bottles too. I used to try and hold him as close to my chest as I coukd and that seemed to soothe him a bit more.
Keep on trying and hopefully soon enough she will start to take it properly. Sometimes he was a bit fussy but then he just used to give in and take it. (Think it was partly because he was a little horace lol )

Hope she starts to take from the bottle soon :D

If he still isnt taking the bottle from you, leave some breast milk in the bottle and give to someone else to feed him, and u go out the house, or lock yourself away in the bathroom, because if he can 'smell' your milk (the phermoans sp) then he will want to take from you, as he associates milk with being close to u, and everything that goes with that.
Another option, which i recommend, is to give him the milk out of a cup. not a sippy cup but a proper 'open' cup and hold it, tilted so the milk is just at the edge, and he will start to 'lap' it up... it is time consuming but if he's adimnt about not taking a bottle its an option for u.
