Things that are easy to grow are, potatoes, carrots, lettuce & tomatoes.
This year we are hoping to grow: Potatoes, Carrots, Cabbage, Marrow, Courgette, Sweetcorn, Radish, Cauliflower, Squash, Cherry toms, Cucumber, Runner Beans, Peppers, Onions & a selection of herbs - thats all I can think of at the moment
We grow all sorts - potatoes, peas, beans, parsnips, carrots, lettuce, spinach, rhubarb, sweetcorn, strawberries etc.. we are lucky enough to have the space and the taste is so much nicer growing your own.
For pots I would recommend salad stuff, potatoes, beans (use a large pot and make a cane wigwam for them to grow up).
We generally have a couple of growbags with runner beans in and another couple with tomatoes in. Then we have courgettes, cucumbers and carrots in tubs and all manner of different herbs in the front garden (our front garden is the childrens play area so herbs are great for the flower beds) this year I'm hoping to sneak some tomatoes and lettuces in the flower beds too, in such an old house it's quite fitting to have the flower beds truly traditional and grow our own food in them.
