I'd say go for it...the mirena is different to the old COPPER COIL that seems to have failed frequently as a contraceptive LOL

I've got the mirena and it's great! I had it put in to help with heavy periods and endometriosis but had Nathan because they didn't realise that I have a backward-facing uterus so it had been put in wrong LOL

I had that one taken out when the scan showed a baby in there but I've since had another put in and it makes the world of difference...

xx

My Mum had the old school copper ones in and fell pregnant twice on it, but sadly lost 3 babies, (one pregnancy was a set of twins).

Although I've never had one, I know a couple of ladies that have the newer ones in and haven't had any problems on it at all.

I wouldn't have a normal coil, had an argument with the doctor about it just over 9 months ago

I had one after Ethan was born and never looked back! Used to have very painful periods and missed so much work because of it. Now I don't get periods at all, I don't have to remember to take a pill and I'm not heading down the doctors every few months for an injection. Obviously, not every method suits every woman, but its definitely worth a try.

Had it put in about 4 weeks ago, so far no problems - a little cramping that afternoon and blood, then spotting the next day but nothing since, so hoping it works as well for me

I suppose it's whatever contraceptive works for you, everybodys different and has different reactions and side effects.
