Ella loves Mickey Mouse clubhouse - and at 17 months old Mickey is one of her favourite words. Yes I know my daughter is odd - her vocabulary at the moment includes MIckey, MInnie, Ogre. None of the normal baby words at this stage for my child
Anyhoo, we had saw on PLayhouse Disney that Mickey was touring the country, and from the website discovered that he would be in Glasgow today and tomorrow.
I know she is only little but we thought she may like meeting him, so went along to town this morning. As we arrived in St Enoch's there were no signs or anything. Hmmmmm weird we though so headed to the Dsiney store. I bumped into a teacher I used to work with, and she pointed me in the right direction.
Well turns out he was coming out every half hour (on the hour and half hour) out for 10 mins, and then leaving. The queue was wrapped round the centre twice, and then outside the centre and into the street, where it was wrapped round the square outside twice. [smilie=2guns.gif] [smilie=2guns.gif]
Needless to say we DID NOT wait in that queue. Instead - like many many others, we took Ella to the Disney store and bought her a toy.
So a wee word of warning if you too had seen this advertised and thought about going along - it is chaos! And you are not allowed to take your own photos - must buy it off of them. There was 1 girl going round the crowd giving out a Mickey paper ears, a sticker, colouring page and a keyring that you had to take to the Disney store and if it turned blue you won a prize. We stood for about 10 mins letting Ella choose what she wanted and there was a huge queue to check their keyring and no-one won in all that time   Thankfully Ella far too little to have understood - but for any of you who were going with older children beware. Maybe if you turned up for him starting at 9am you would have a chance.

Thanks for that. Ethan loves Mickey Mouse Playhouse and I was thinking about taking him but it would mean travelling some distance as there isn't one near us. After what you have said I won't bother.

You are welcome Ladies. I wish someone had warned us what it would be like. Total chaos. You would have thought that they would have had several people dressed up as Mickey - bring one out for 10 mins, disappear and then within a few minutes another would appear at least that way no-one would have had to wait too long to see him
Still Ella loves her new Minnie bowl, cup and her Handy manny tool box. Neil's mum asked us yesterday if we remembered that we had a wee girl cos we shouldn't have bought her a boys toy FFS it is the noughties. Ella did like a Mickey teaset until she found the toolbox. And since then has carried Pat the Hammer like he is the crown jewels

Was thinking of getting Ethan a Handy Manny toolbox for his birthday. Would you recommend it? Sounds like Ella would! And as for not buying Ella a boys toy - what a load of rubbish - DIY is a good skill to have Ella - anyone can make a cup of tea!!

OMG that sounds like 1 hell of a queue! I hate things like that cos they must know kids will get bored waiting in such long queues!! Glad Ella was pleased with her toy though :D

Why has such a rediculous queue when all of the kids in Glasgow will be in it moaning and whining!!! Shocking!
