Hi, being a nursery nurse and working in day nurseries for 12years believe me when i say not to worry too much. Nurseries have alot more going off than at home so hopefully your little man will be well entained. They will also contact you if for any reason they cant settle him. Ask see if he can do short visits so its not too much all in one go, most nurseries will encourage these and you can always phone up to see how he is doing. My lad used to be fine all day then cry when he saw me. The first week or so will be the hardest but hopefully he will enjoy it x

Ask at the nursery where he is going for some induction days, we do them at my work and its basically to help settle in, like for first day he will be there with you to play for an hour or so and then next day you will gradually leave the room etc. To be honest most kids have a scream and then settle! We have just recently had a 2 new children at my nursery and they have both settled within a week! He will love it xx

Most of the time it is the mothers who are more upset, once he settles into the new environment, makes some friends and gets attached to the building he will be fine. When i returned to work when my little girl was 9 months i felt terrible (she goes to my mums for the 2 days i work) My first day i basically flew back to my mums expecting lacey to be upset and to miss me, i needed to drag her away from all the toys at my mums house! It will be really good for him playing with other kiddies and it will make your life easier as he wont be clingy to you as much xx
