Hi hun I had the coil fitted years ago and it only lasted a week as my body rejected it and pushed it out I was quite frightened when it happened
I would say it maybe the same in your case
I would go and speak to your gp regarding pregnancy but I'm sure you get a hormone release with the mirena one which also lowers risk of pregnancy which would have still been getting release even if not in the correct place
hope you manage to get some advice on what to do next xxx

thank you, mine was fitted just over a year ago, so should have been fine. spoke to doc, got to do a test and then can have another coil but she said it might happen again.

probably the last thing you wanna hear but i had my mirena IN when i fell pregnant with Nathan

mine was a rare case, tho, as i had an undiagnosed backward-facing uterus so the mirena was incorrectly implanted...

hope you're ok xx

I had the mirena coil fitted 5 weeks ago to control my heavy periods as I get very anaemic. I had this under GA as I had a d&c and a laproscopy at the same time. They had to remove one of my ovaries as it had a growth but that came back all clear after biopsy.

Anyway, I have been bleeding every day since the insertion. I couldn't feel the strings at all at first, but yesterday after some big blood clots the strings were much further down. This morning the whole thing came out! It was a white T shape with strings attached so I presume this is the whole thing?
